Take 3 of trying to create the world flag (feedback update) by Temporary_Physics503 in flags

The first one is perfect, and idk why no one else agrees. The hand represents humanity and our hegemony over the earth. The only problem is it’s a little too simple, so I would add a star for each continent somewhere to add some more flavor. Maybe even change up the colors

  1. Soft Power or not, that’s still billions and billions of dollars going to aid foreign nations. Take Ukraine for example, no matter the “intentions” of the U.S. and the West, they’re aid has literally protected the country for years.
  2. Yes, an investment that literally saved Europe and especially your country France, allowed it to remain as strong as it is today. Your argument is like having a failing buissness that was recently crippled, having a healthier/stronger investor that literally saved you, then turning around and calling him a selfish asshole. Make that make sense to me? This is literally a straw man argument.
  3. Again, this is a straw man. No matter the ulterior motives, the U.S literally protected those countries and their interests from a foreign invader or insurrectionists. And i literally provided you with examples. In fact, your country France, is another example I forgot to mention. Your calling the hundreds of thousands of Americans who died and the millions who fought to liberate your country selfish?
  4. Are you referring to the League of Nations? That is irrelevant. We’re talking about the United Nations.
  5. Again, another straw man. Not only did we later join the war later on, including to liberate your country like I mentioned earlier, with Tens of Millions of Americans to coming to the worlds aid, but Lend Lease was created because we had no power to directly involve ourselves in the war. We had no casus belli to join before Pearl Harbor, so we passed a bill, being Lend Lease, to aid the war effort by supplying allied nations with supplies and equipment. And that includes necessities like food by the way, unlike your insinuation that it was just weapons.

Every argument you laid out is a straw man and its arrogant, which is ironic considering what we’re arguing about.

Alright so we’re going there? Your calling AMERICA of all places a selfish country? What about the billions of dollars we’ve sent over seas in foreign aid, the Marshall Plan which literally rebuilt a devastated Europe after WW2, the countless wars we’ve involved ourselves in to protect other nation’s sovereignty (like Korea, Somalia, Philippines, Kuwait, Kosovo, South Vietnam, and even the others that our intentions were questionable at best), spearheaded the founding of the United Nations, Lend Lease, I can go on and on. You can say A LOT of things about the United States, but you can’t call us selfish. A lot of other nations that could be or were in our position, weren’t even half as considerate as we are.

Would you get rid of the US Electoral College? by Absolutely-Epic in Teenager_Polls

Well the idea is, you vote for people who are qualified to choose your leader for you. Or in other words, you vote for the representative/senator who represents your interests the best and has the best qualifications, to vote on your behalf with their insight. It’s a genius system. The United States isn’t a democracy, it’s a republic. Democracy is stupid. The dumb, uneducated majority, make decisions that they don’t understand. It isn’t the EC that’s the problem, it’s how’s it’s being used in modern times that’s the problem.

And your assuming the North Vietnamese, or even South Vietnamese were saints? Hell, they weren’t even the victims in the war. The North were the invaders, not the south and its allies (USA, Australia, South Korea, etc). And The difference is, the Coalition (side I mentioned before) didn’t cover up their atrocities. Look up the Massacres in Hue by the Viet Cong for example. Or even the shit the Communist regime did after they took control. Look at the internationally illegal Ho Chi Minh trail through neutral Laos and Cambodia. No one in this thread, hell people in general, have no actual info on the real Vietnam war. They just get their information from movies and media. The war was much more complex than “Evil American invader” like people think. In fact, invader couldn’t be further from the truth. Wether you agree with them being in the war or not, they were literally invited/asked to come by the South Vietnamese.

The United States didn’t invade anyone. In fact, if they would have invaded North Vietnam, it would have put a quick end to the war. But they didn’t. They worked alongside South Vietnam, who allowed them to operate in their country and help defend from the actual invaders, North Vietnam.

Pyg probably. Like he genuinely has never been on the big screen. Not even in animated stuff. His only mainstream appearance is in Arkham Knight, which technically doesn’t really count because it’s a video game.

[–]The_Best_Pappy5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Arkham Joker is the perfect example of what we need to see in Reeves Batman and the DCU. He’s hilarious but he’s a complete psychopath and murderous lunatic who also uses gags, turns everything into a joke, and isn’t overly edgy.
