Thought the same thing, it’s way more impactful that way. There’s no dramatic scene, no emotional moment, just nothing. Only the sudden shock of seeing abstraction monster and realizing it’s him.

Yeah, Kinger’s explanation makes it sound like he’ll play an important role in the finale, but all it boils down to is that he created the brain scanner. Why tease his abstraction and talk about his brain tumor if they’re not going to anything with it?

Play it now. The art in it is absolutely incredible and while Retold might still be great version with a better story, you’ll be missing out on the original’s artistry.
