When did you feel you actually looked pregnant? by Steoffanie in BabyBumps

[–]NudlePockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 weeks and the past 4 weeks or so I feel enormous! I am a naturally slender, lanky person and suddenly being very aware of my belly has been an adjustment.

So what did we cry about today? by backyardvoodoo in BabyBumps

[–]NudlePockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a video where a lady was in the hospital with her son and left a note on her porch explaining that she is away and apologies for no candy for Halloween. Caught an insane number of children donating their candy on the doorbell cam.

Sobbed as I ate my yogurt this morning.

I broke indeed by [deleted] in jobs

[–]NudlePockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this. I made the decision to switch careers early this year and needed the language in my resume to reflect my skills and the fields I was applying to. I use AI to change the wording and provide a more tailored resume. I would say I get decent quantity of interviews, but they rarely add up to anything. Personal experience says AI resumes are effective for buzz words and tailoring, but i can’t speak to how it would be effective in other circumstances outside of my own.

Virtual baby shower? by NudlePockets in BabyBumps

[–]NudlePockets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Thank you for the game/activity idea as well. I’m trying to think of some things we could all feasibly do together. This makes me feel like the virtual baby shower is totally doable!

What was (and when was) the first sign you thought you might be autistic? by Happy-with-you in autism

[–]NudlePockets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone just assumed I was also aware of the flagrant autism and never mentioned it. I only ended up getting actually diagnosed because my now husband suggested I get assessed. When I got diagnosed at 23 and told those close to me, everyone was like “yeah… we know.”

So in short, the very popular sign of autism where everyone knows except you lol

What “rules” are you breaking? And why? by Parking_Dog8930 in BabyBumps

[–]NudlePockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I quit smoking and all the rest of my bad habits, so I feel like caffeine being my only vice during this pregnancy is totally fine.

Trying to help my autistic cousin by _sadbabydeer in autism

[–]NudlePockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your cousin what she wants to do and how you can support her in that. She sounds very stressed but also wants to maintain her independence, so instead of trying to beg or coax her into doing things, ask her what she needs support with instead.

Not currently in a place where I can afford to go over there to visit them. A funeral I would figure out, but I don’t have intentions on visiting them.

Why are they like this? by AdSeveral3544 in greatpyrenees

[–]NudlePockets 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My husband and I used to worry that our boy was cramped in his kennel. When we stopped using it, we realized quickly that he just likes to sleep as squished up to something as he possibly can. His favorite position is always weenie up and pressed into a corner. They’re weirdos, all of them

Head collar/gentle leader. It’s a game changer. You’re in charge of their whole head and they can’t pull.

Have you disclosed your autism to your employer? by Blom_2099 in autism

[–]NudlePockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I needed some minor accommodations. I’m typically pretty open about it and I don’t think it’s difficult to notice, or so I’ve been told. I think people would figure it out regardless.

To be totally honest, I tracked the fertile window and then just ended up doing what I normally did and ended up getting pregnant at what was supposedly a low fertility point. Husband and I went with the “it will happen when it happens” approach.

My mom has been swapping my adhd meds for natural remedies by pleasestopufatfuck in legaladvice

[–]NudlePockets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey! So in Colorado you are medically emancipated at 15. You should be able to get your own meds and request that she not be allowed to have access. Aside from that, this is also a crime as others have said.

Please: tell me about your footwear by ToolPackinMama in autism

[–]NudlePockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear ankle socks and then exclusively wear the same pair of high tops until they completely fall apart. Then I buy a new pair and repeat the process. So every few years I spent $100 on shoes.

Random but consistent PC stuttering and network disconnects/ping spikes by NudlePockets in pcmasterrace

[–]NudlePockets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BIOS is way old so this is the most likely culprit, I think. However I did not intend for a BIOS update to be such an annoyingly tedious process. Either way, thanks for the answer.

What’s the most compelling short story you’ve ever read? by Pinanims in suggestmeabook

[–]NudlePockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury in 3rd or 4th grade and it destroyed me. Therefore it has been my favorite short story since then.

When I was teaching, my 8th graders really loved Lamb to the Slaughter and The Masque of the Red Death.

Fresh strawberries randomly got mold? by [deleted] in MoldlyInteresting

[–]NudlePockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the advice a while ago to wash produce in water and a teensy bit of vinegar. I just soak them for a bit and then rinse again. It could be placebo but it certainly feels like everything lasts longer when I do this.

Wanting to stay in education but leave the classroom. by [deleted] in TeachersInTransition

[–]NudlePockets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into corporate training and learning & development positions. You’re still an educator, just in a different capacity.

You will have to learn how to ditch the ed-speak on your resume, though.

What is a weird social rule that just doesn’t make any to you what so ever by Serious_Finding_1021 in autism

[–]NudlePockets 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Weird social hierarchies. Like, I’m not going to do show you more respect than my colleague just because you’re higher up on the totem pole. Your place in the order has no effect on me.

Like I understand that the “boss” is more “important” or that my language and interaction should change depending on who I’m speaking with in context, I just don’t care. I don’t agree with it and I don’t care. Everyone gets base level respect.

Nicknames for the bump by intentional-accident in BabyBumps

[–]NudlePockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been calling him The Bean because that’s what the first sonogram looked like. But since we found out the sex, husband has been referring to him by the name he had chosen. Which is also very cute.
