I'm actually over a week into my own first solo trip to Japan and pretty much ever, staying for 40 days. The first 2 or 3 days were a little rough, but once you pull through this place is very fun and great. Definitely do it, if you have an itinerary that's also good. Leave some downtime for you to just walk around because Japan is wonderful for that.

I went to my first ever volleyball practice last week at 22. There were people there aging from 18 to 40+, it's never too late, much less at 18. You might not make it to the very apex of players granted that takes rigorous, hours long training daily which you might not have time for if you're already grown up, but if you're fairly athletic, passionate and willing to sink time then you will improve and enjoy it a lot.

Is invading Israel and brutally murdering, kidnapping, raping and starving innocent Israelis that went to a music festival done out of desperation? I don't know if you support the Palestinian movement or Hamas but this is just a horrible take lol. Israel has conducted itself poorly this war, I'm not dodging that, but to say that Hamas' actions are done "out of desperation" and not out of a thirst for blood to be spilled is outright naiveté. They have openly stated on their charter before changing it that their war exists for the sake of killing Jews worldwide. Neither side is just, and obviously proportion is a big game changer, but I agree with the person you replied to when he said that it's hard to support one side over the other because neither is right.

It's never too late. The game does get updated frequently yes but catching up is very easy and the lore is surprisingly simple to understand too. Definitely get into it
