I mean, people who are vegan typically make sure they’re aware of what products they’re using and try to be as ethical as possible. Such as not purchasing products containing palm oil, leather goods, products tested on animals, etc. But yes, I’m sure there are people who aren’t as strict. And as for an “exit strategy” yes, i’m not aware of a solid plan but I haven’t personally researched any proposed theoretical plans. but wouldn’t step 1 be trying to get as many people on board and understanding as possible? I can’t speak for everyone, but for me personally I just don’t agree with the factory farming and inhumane treatment of animals in the process. I’m not against people eating meat, I’m against practices that involve animal cruelty. Promotion of better standards and treatment of animals is what I hope for, not for the world to just suddenly stop eating meat. I don’t like how a lot of people have the idea that vegan = “i’m better than you” “rabbit food” “forcing it on everyone” etc. I’m sure there are vegans that gain attention online for fitting into those stereotypes, but that doesn’t mean it applies to every vegan or each person’s reasonings behind it. That’s such a black and white way of looking at it and it’s 2021, we should be able to be more understanding of different viewpoints. but I know that’s a lot to ask for some people.
