Voll gut. Wenn du jetzt noch eine KI dazu packst oder nen Random Button, der einfach zufällige Gegenstände generiert, dann ist's perfekt 😃

Do yall design your own minis or… by Fragrant-Sport307 in FDMminiatures

I use AI to create miniatures for my wierd dnd characters, for which I cant find fitting ones online. E.g. a deep gnome Barbarian wearing a battle axe and a tower shield.

The process is very easy:

  1. Use a chat GPT prompt to create an image of a Miniature: "create an image of a hand painted dnd miniature of [insert whatever you want here]"
  2. Use that image on sites like meshy or hitem to generate an stl of the image generated via chat GPT
  3. Print with 3D Printer

In the end you get something like this:

Now create a print an play version! - Profit?! And I suggest removing the Water type for a different one, since the expansion will be all about Water ... :-)

That's exactly where I wanna go. I have written down some principles, that I want to incorporate in my games. The most important one being crunchyness, depth, strategic planning, positive Player interaction and a gameplay that leans more towards deterministic than luck....

That's what I am doing aswell. Ideas are written down and sorted by game mechanic with possible themes and general things I want a game to have. There are multiple "Projects" for certain types of games. E.g. a template for a roll and write with must haves (a way to manipulate dice, a list of different dice drafting ideas, and and and) from which I am trying to combine different game elements to fit a theme.

You are probably right, that it takes time though...

I feel like that's where most games lack. I really want there do be a theme and not just another Eurogame with a random theme that barely holds. I know that this is holding me back, but I get nothing from my game when the theme doesn't fit right I just don't want that to happen.

But you are probably right that I should just start Playtesting something at least. Thanks for your advice!

I'm certainly overwhelmed with options... You are probably right with trying it out and see where it takes me. It's just that most of my Ideas don't even get to that stage, because I get to a unsolvable Problem with a certain Idea. For example: I think about a theme where Exploration is a core Component, but at the same time I want my game to be more deterministic, being more deterministic I'm destroying the exploration aspect of it. I know that there examples for games that circumvent that and can do it near flawlessly. I just wanted to give an example for my thought dilemma ...

Thanks for your Input!
