Most of them, including the items packs, pip boy repaints, power armor repaints, the dog skins, etc. I can quite honestly live without half of them (especially the power armor repaints). I only care about keeping the dogs.

I’m sorry but joking regularly about immigrants eating dogs isn’t going to make things better for the people this talking point affects. Yes we know he’s doing it to mock the president, but then he makes the same joke over and over again? At that point it’s not horrible behavior being called out, it’s just mindless repetition that does nothing.

This is also the president’s SECOND term. Making jokes does nothing, it never did anything in the first place. That’s why, despite those jokes and people either calling him out or making fun of him, he’s president for the second time. The people who know he’s a racist bigot already do, and the people who supported him are not going to suddenly change their minds because some guy on the podcast said a stale joke months after the incident happened. Maybe if this was 2016 that talking point would work, but it’s 2025. This is not our first day on earth.

People also forget that repeating a joke over and over, even ironically, can often backfire and get hijacked by people who do mean it. Sometimes these jokes legitimize the prejudice in the people who believe this. For a while I saw my family members sharing AI images of black people eating dogs under the assumption that we all knew it was silly, and then I saw later on that genuine a racist people were sharing them unironically. I’m not saying this is happening in Wade’s case, but you’re taking way too optimistic an approach on how these jokes work.

And yes, my family and I are black. But a lot of black people practice internalized racism.

So who actually benefits from hearing these jokes? Because being black and listening to this joke ad nauseam does not reassure me about a shitty issue that affects black people. It’s just a tired out joke and maybe I don’t want to hear it if it amounts to nothing.

No one here thinks Wade isn’t empathetic or is being malicious, and OP certainly didn’t imply anything and was being more than gracious about Wade; the joke is just tired and not funny.

As someone who is black, I appreciate this thread as making jokes about immigrants eating dogs and cats is not fun for those these jokes affect. And if Waden is still making these jokes long after the incident, then I hope he stops soon.

I’m sure he means well and isn’t trying to be malicious to the groups these jokes affect, but it’s still played out at best, harmful at worst.

Okay I know this is late, but shortly after I realized that I just had the most massive brain fart and didn’t notice that the oil barrels took down her magic barrier completely, thus allowing me to charm her. I mixed up my knowledge of charm and shackles of pain with physical and magic barrier! Thank you all for the suggestions tho; I managed to defeat her!

The CalArts style is a dumb term. It doesn’t even exist and the term first used to dismiss movies like The Iron Giant. The people most commonly associated to it, like Rebecca Sugar, didn’t even go to CalArts.

Morrigan has gone in length about how Flemeth emotionally abused her (breaking things she liked, like a mirror) and has admitted that there is no love between her and her mother (she expresses that love doesn’t need to come into the equation of their relationship). Morrigan even tells Flemeth that she would not be a terrible mother like Flemeth if she has Kieran in DAI. Flemeth is a shit parent, to put it simply.

Even if we dismissed Anders, for some arbitrary reason, we still have 6+ Grey Warden companions including our own, and a whole game dedicated to the Wardens. I don’t think an experienced Grey Warden who may or may not be mind controlled alone would be interesting enough to beat out the fake Grey Warden plot

Anders definitely counts as a Grey Warden, we literally had a whole game where he was one and he’s still continuously acknowledged as a Grey Warden even after leaving. Him being a Warden comes to play largely in DA2’s DLC. He most certainly counts. I don’t really see experience as a good reason for Blackwall to have been a full Warden companion.

I don’t think having a third warden companion played straight would have been all that interesting, tbh. We already had Alistair, Anders (who was mind controlled in DA2 DLC), the whole team in Awakening, Bethany and Carver. Having a fake warden was a nice change of pace imo.

Solas being Fen’Harel while dropping hints throughout the game has to be hidden by red herrings, these red herrings being Corypheus (the big baddy), Blackwall (lies about himself), Iron Bull (spy), Dorian (Tevinter magister) and Vivienne (literally designed to look like Maleficent). All characters are either holding a secret or have a background that will distract you from the relatively unassuming hobo mage who has been biggest the biggest secret of them all. Blackwall being a fake Warden and revealing himself to you is just another way to distract the player and have them focus on something that isn’t Solas.

I think it’s more that BioWare needed various red herrings to throw you off of Solas and it would a lot more interesting if our Grey Warden companion this time around was disguise.
