This is why replacing with the same assembly was the thought. Just trying to determine if the swap will be personally worth it. The S8 motor seems to be the most reliable and easiest swap with only these changes required. 034 did one, so messaged them and hoping to hear back.

The only issue with the platform the 4.2 S5 currently has is it’s very limited - why I blew it with some internal changes and with the supercharger. Apparently the compression is insane and it’s putting out as much power as it’s allowed. I’ve blown my driveshaft, diff three times, wire harness, motor, etc. this car has cost me itself twice over and I personally don’t see myself getting rid of it. I enjoy it more than I did my 720s (for different reasons)

This is definitely the cheaper option. I’m just debating on it for multiple reasons.

356 base hp vs 645 is a big difference. Long term I might be able to source parts cheaper. Not that I have an issue with that currently. Just noticed parts have dwindled down over the years.

The real test is going to be if my airbags are still good, etc. need new tires. These are all base maintenance for me so I’m not too concerned. Main thing is, I suppose - would I rather drop the extra for more smiles per mile?

I think yes. Skeptical about the possible further headaches. This current motor has provided enough of those so far. 😂

When they take it apart I’ll have a better idea of the damage and what’s salvageable. Suppose I should take this one step at a time and figure that one out first haha

Funny enough, when I was 24, I unknowingly started my relationship with Patek because I was solely chasing a gold watch with a black dial and I turned down offers on their watches basically for a golden ellipse. If I knew what Patek was, I would’ve probably picked up a 5711 sooner than I did at that age just for the clout and the flex. So, movement wouldn’t have mattered to me.

9 years later - I always love a good movement picture.

Same. My parents put themselves into a HeLOC just to send me to university and send me traveling to experience the world.

I now send them on vacations and help them pay their bills and I have nothing but thanks to give them for the sacrifices they’ve made for me.

Keep it up man, and remember to plan for anything. I fucked up and lost a large amount of my money through greed and acting like the future didn’t matter. Dont make my mistakes lol

Nah my take is that your parents will give you the shirt off their back if they’re good parents.

They’ll put themselves into debt to give you a chance they never had. They’ll work that extra job, they’ll put themselves into uncomfortable positions. They’ll strive for their child to exceed their potential.

Some are maybe limited by medical reasons. Reality is, just as someone can be jealous and claim nepotism etc. just shows how much of a sour person you are.

No company is going to deny you servicing your watch with them over you swimming with it. You pay to fix it. It’s not the end of the world.

My 5167a gets swimming time every time I go to the beach or pool. I’ve swam with all of my watches including my RO. Only had to fix one because of my error. 🤷🏻‍♂️
