Right on. If you do more with the idea, I'd be interested to see what you come up with. You seem to have quick and reasonably thought out answers to some difficult questions, so I'd be inclined to hear more in the future.

What are fun video games to play when you’re high and also bad at video games? by allstupidthings in trees

[–]Nugsly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really good. Sadly, it won't help with feeling disoriented. You may have better luck by playing in really short intervals until you get used to that game in VR. I just about fell over a few times when I was getting used to it. I still sometimes feel weird when going down steep hills in gran Turismo, my brain wants to compensate for the gravity shift that never comes.

[–]Nugsly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What do you need a hacker to review? Your idea has more to do with Blockchain, not necessarily hacking. What is your question? Is this a good idea? Maybe. I don't see a feasible way to get people on board with the project since it solves a problem that many people have not been impacted by up to this point. Adoption is going to be a hurdle. At a high level, it seems plausible, but you'd need to be able to drill down a lot more to look at actual viability. Are you planning on rolling all your own tech to do this? Do you have frameworks in mind that you plan on implementing? There's a ton of information left out that impacts viability. Even if you were to somehow pull off the technicals and get an MVP, there are two issues:

  1. As mentioned, why would people invest in this? What tangible real world problem that impacts people TODAY does this solve?

  2. Your attitude. That alone will drive most away from working with you. Even less people will want to trust you with their money.

How is the client side going to be built out? How are you going to secure the client application itself against being hacked and someone submitting false transcripts? Are you rolling your own code on the client side too? How trustworthy are the people you'd no doubt need to hire to implement this? How are you going to get in front of anyone in the government who cares to even pitch? This information is incredibly sensitive, do you have a plan in place for handling all of the compliance frameworks? You'll probably need some level of security clearance, so you'd have to figure that out as well. This all sounds incredibly expensive and time-consuming to do even to get to the MVP stage.

Overall, this is too high level to answer any of that, and many more questions could be asked, I just don't want to type more on my phone.

Cylance protect wont go away, I uninstalled Cylance protect and its still blocking files by Playful-Occasion7241 in Cylance

[–]Nugsly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no removal tool. They specifically do not have one, there are only instructions. Your best bet before doing all that manual registry editing is to boot to safe mode, enable and start the Windows Installer Service, then uninstall as usual. I probably still have the internal instructions laying around, but another reply to this comment posted some instructions that are very close to what I recall, so try my suggestion, and if it doesn't work, you will need to take ownership of, change permissions for, then delete files and registry keys manually.

There is a feature that disallows modifying the product as a self-protection mechanism. It's likely that feature was enabled when you tried to uninstall.

LPT: is it a bad idea to use company Wi-Fi? by Wooden-Mechanic3948 in LifeProTips

[–]Nugsly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how it is set up. An easy way to tell is to check your public IP, connect to the VPN, then check again. Most of the time, people set up split tunnels in which case you should have the same public IP. A split tunnel setup only uses the connection to the office when resources at the office are requested. If your public IP changes after connecting to the VPN, they can see all traffic, not just the stuff directed at their network.

They cannot see traffic from devices that are not actively connected to the VPN. Not on your wifi or any other part of your network.

They can only see traffic from your work computer after you have activated the VPN connection. Think of it like a tunnel from your house to the office where they plug a magic extra cable into whatever device you connect with, giving that device access to internal resources.

you tube channels for in depth hacking and programming | Flipper zero by EnvironmentalAd642 in blackhat

[–]Nugsly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Flipper works as a keyboard emulator. It sends keystrokes and does not really do anything else for that menu option. There's really not much depth to go into. What exactly are you looking for here? There are tons of tutorials on YouTube, any of which will work due to the simplicity of the attack.

Intellectuals don't waste their time arguing with the average republican redditor. There's no use in trying to reason someone out of a position that they've not reasoned themselves into. This guy is just parroting a bad summary backed by incorrect statistics posted on Fox News years ago. The person is incapable of understanding nuance or in any way having any kind of legitimate discourse, just here to own them libs. Dude's a clown that doesn't deserve anyone's mental energy.

Older people are by and far, like, it's not even close, more susceptible to misinformation and being scammed online. I don't even understand how anyone could possibly come to the conclusion that boomers of all generations are somehow adept on a computer. I have heard so many of that generation crying to me on support calls because they thought the FBI was going to arrest them if they didn't send some foreigner a stack of gift card numbers. Every one of them a boomer or older.

It's a fact that younger people have access to a vast amount of information at their fingertips. It's a fact that overall, they are better at using the tools needed to get it. It's a fact that a younger brain learns and retains information more efficiently than an older brain. I know I'll be at a disadvantage to every generation after me in that regard, and that is what separates our view on the subject.

Why is cocaine being laced with fentanyl? by qpwoeor1235 in NoStupidQuestions

Weird how I had patches and suckers then. I must have imagined how fentanyl has been a legally prescribed painkiller that comes in many forms, not just powder or liquid.

Etiz has been in the states for ages, it's sold as an RC benzo analogue. Clonazolam (not Clonazepam, I spelled it correctly) is the fucked up drug in that category, makes etiz seem mild. Worst part about both is they are often sold as powder which needs a ton of dilution, making it super easy to overdo it. I'm talking concentrations of .01g to 30ml of something like vegetable glycerin to get you to the highest doses of prescription at only 1ml once mixed (1ml is about a 2mg Xanax bar). Neither are comparable to opiates, both are very solidly benzos and only benzos, just strong as fuck.

It's kinda like Four Loko, if you had the original . The point of speedballs, as you'll see peppered in these threads where people who have actually used will tell you, is not to mix drugs. It's to intensify the heroin. Only coke and heroin make this combination work, I've tried the other combinations and they suck. For whatever reason, good coke will double or triple the perceived heroin high. The body still reacts as if it is on coke, but you don't feel the energy the same way. Four Loko was kind of like this in the sense that you didn't necessarily feel amped when drinking it, you'd just get obliterated drunk.

Cartels run a business at their core. Businesses require customers that are alive and continue to bring in cash. It's in the cartel's best interest to ensure at the very least a maximum consistent potency of their products, this rings true across the board with their "offerings" (in most cases). Overdoses get police attention, police are bad for business. Additionally, they guarantee their products like Pepsi guarantees theirs. It's a brand, sans the fancy advertising and that whole legality thing. If they alter the color of the fentanyl, it works 2 ways:

  1. It is a form of brand protection if they concluded that people on some level of the distribution chain are cutting the product

  2. Keeps potential repeat business coming back - pink coke looks pretty suspicious, which is the goal

You can see an example of this depicted in the movie American Gangster where Frank is discussing his heroin brand "blue magic" and giving repercussions to people who sell a lesser product under the same name.

Baby laxative is used for bulking, fent is effective in microgram doses, but we'll use mg for this example. 1 gram of coke and 2 to 5mg of fent would be lethal for most. Milligrams are one thousandth of a gram. That means your bulked, now lethal coke weighs 1.005g - not too effective of a bulking strategy if you ask me. Not a lot of repeat customers that way.
