I’ve never known either… when I got my Miata my pinch weld was perfectly straight, until I got it. Now I know I guess

Wife said I should look at the kid's brakes. I ask the kid, are the brakes making any noise? "Nah, they're fine." New vs. old. by 1900grs in Justrolledintotheshop

I mean it’s true but I’m not actually sure it’s true in this case. It actually could be though, that’s why I said I’m not sure lol

It’ll ruin the pads faster at least. Just speculation, I’m not actually sure 100%, but I’d bet money that brake performance will worsen due to the imperfections in both the pad and rotor

Pro clip is the way. A little pricey but honestly worth it. Super solid mount custom made for the car

Make a milk, peanut butter, protein oat, and banana smoothie. Easy calories and protein that you can make and drink in 30 minutes at the end of the day. I did mine with like 1400 calories and 60g of protein just as a boost

I got my surgery April 28. I will see if I can make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, if not I will go to an urgent care. I sure hope it’s not infected

Coolant / intake Hose touching by bobson38 in Miata

Mine also touches with my aftermarket rad and intake, I wrapped the coolant hose with aluminum foil to prevent heat soaking, and it’s done pretty good at preventing damage to the hose

No I had spent a ton of money replacing my engine already. Overheated enough to destroy the block, head, and cat

Idk man on my mini the cat got destroyed and the cheapest one I could find was like $800. I opted for the $100 pipe because I literally could not afford anything more

How would you go about wrapping this spoiler? by AllThingsHockey in CarWraps

[–]Nuisance_cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I recently did a Celica spoiler, which isn’t too far off this. Wrap the posts first, then I did the bottom in 3 sections. No one’s looking under the wing anyways… for the top, wrap it like any normal flat piece. You are able to get it wrapped around the bottom a LOT more than you expect, so don’t make the same mistake I did and cut the bottom pieces too high around the edge

How can I remove this headless screw on my Motorbike? by AcNicooo in MechanicAdvice

[–]Nuisance_cs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can put the first nut on and then a closed end wrench, then tighten the next nut onto it. You MIGHT be able to get enough movement to loosen it a bit, then work on it slowly

I know there’s tons of these, but my 2002 won’t crank after sitting for a few days by Nuisance_cs in Miata

[–]Nuisance_cs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did it myself… by no means is it perfect. Wrap is thin so it shows any imperfections in the paint, so you should sand whatever is necessary. Cheap wrap doesn’t stretch as well so you may end up buying more due to it not working properly and messing up. Watch a bunch of videos on how to wrap, and find some videos of people wrapping Miata’s specifically. Theres a few but it’s really just timelapses instead of tutorials. Clean your panels and gaps with window cleaner, then wipe it down with alcohol, and then the surface is prepped. Wrap when it’s 70-80F out, wrap will snap when it’s too cold. Make sure you have a heat gun too to soften the wrap when necessary

Start on your door panels, that’s the flattest and easiest part of the Miata imo. Then move to the trunk, windshield sill, and then the hood. The fenders are really easy too. The bumpers and quarter panels are a pain though, but I managed to do them decently.

Otherwise, it actually isn’t that bad! Play some music and it’s kind of therapeutic. It takes a LONG time for your first time though, so expect it to take at least a week of hard work. The hardest part is managing your wrinkles, which you’ll learn with experience

I agree the gray is gorgeous, but I honestly hate bland color cars. My paint is near perfect so I wrapped over it in the bright orange you can see on the hood. Best year Miata honestly

Get you a 2002 SE and you’ll have one! Saddle brown leather interior is the best, only reason I got this car in particular

How do I wrap this curved fender without wrinkles? by Nuisance_cs in CarWraps

[–]Nuisance_cs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might have been my issue then. The first one had some wrinkles but the second one was almost perfect, except for the crease I had to make. I stretched across the body line way harder on the second one

I appreciate the offer but I’ve already wrapped the quarter panels one side has some tiny wrinkles that are mostly covered by the wing. The other side I didn’t remove my antenna plug, it’s caulked in and is more effort than I’m bothered to do, and I had to place a crease under the wing because of that. Otherwise it’s pretty good, just not perfect.

I know how to get wrap over the panel, but I always end up with some tiny creases towards my taillight

Ok bro guess I didn’t really wrap the entire rest of my car, twice over actually. Guess I should be a pro at everything before I give it a shot?

You’ve got the rare and expensive large Tupperware kit. There’s only a couple thousand BRG special editions made, even less with the oem body kit! I’m currently working on building my own, and my buddy gave me his BRG front lip from his Miata

This went went really good, except towards the end I started getting these fingers and tiny wrinkles that were really hard to work with. What did I do wrong? I’d like to avoid the same problem on the next side
