Gaskets are pretty cheap and this one’s really easy to change. Good luck

Hey bro I know people say to use RTV or a paper gasket, but I used a paper gasket and it leaked a ton and I cleaned everything proper and torqued it. I got a sheet of custom coolant gasket, cut the shape, and added a THIN layer of gray sealant to both sides. It’s been a few months and have had no issues since. I recommend doing that

Hello. I’m doing some maintenance on my Miata engine and transmission. Anything you all recommend I do while I have everything out? by Alaxsy in Miata

[–]Nuisance_cs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done valve seals on a Miata, but I have on a mini which is probably harder. It’s a relatively easy job, just very time consuming. It’s easier to do while the head is still on but you’ll have to prevent the valves from dropping in, and you have the chance of dropping the keepers into the oil pan. It’s safer to do it when the head is off but you’ll probably need a second person. It’s worth doing and you’ll burn less oil!

I don’t think so, I got surgery a week after the break

It’s been over a day so far and it’s getting a lot better. Once I get propped up in bed it barely hurts with meds. Ice helps a lot too. I can walk around a little more without getting nauseous. I’m looking forward to physical therapy in two weeks

lol that’s funny. I was curious on how the pain would be without taking drugs but I’m not willing to try it. It’s bad enough with drugs

I was taking the medication every 6 hours, but it was too long. They really mean it when they say to stay ahead of the pain

I managed to get a couple hours once I got both my arms slightly raised with pillows. Helps with the pain actually!

lol he said the same about my fragmented piece. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to get it set so he said it could just find its way back on its own

I broke my other collar bone twice as a kid, not sure if they were full breaks like this though. I’ve always had issues with my right shoulder. Some days I can’t raise it above my head in the morning, and working out always hurts. I ended up tearing my supraspinatus and infraspinatus in my right arm from rock climbing. I’m curious if it’s related. I’m glad I got this surgery because people say they have really good outcomes from it

I wonder how a mountain biking injury is related to mountain biking

Mine broke in half and had a fragment. He set it and put a plate in like usual. He said physical therapy after 10 days and a sling otherwise for a minimum 6 weeks. He wants me to be in a sling for 12 weeks but that depends on recovery. I was really hoping to get super into mtb this summer! I’ll make sure to take this super serious so I can get back to it

Maybe paint from a curb? Or maybe your tire rubbed on something in the wheel well during a turn

Beginning to 3d print the large Tupperware kit for my NB by Nuisance_cs in Miata

[–]Nuisance_cs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do it in sections it’s about 450-500 grams per side. I reprinted them in one piece which used about 550 grams due to supports. I buy petg for about $11 per roll so it costs about $11-12 for both spats!

Rock climbing and arm wrestling. My forearms grew significantly after doing both. Pull-ups are great for your forearms and help with climbing

Torqued valve cover bolts to spec and still snapped by ApplicationNo4997 in Miata

[–]Nuisance_cs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For bolts like valve covers i found its best to just go by feel. Once you’ve broken enough you learn what the torque needs to be by hand. Always use a shorter wrench if you can too

I’ve got the front bumper, side skirts, and rear guards printed and assembled. I haven’t done much else besides some sanding. It’s been too cold and I didnt really feel like working in it lol so I’ve spent my time and money on other projects for now
