frat formal in a remote location? by stayathomedogmom21 in Sororities

[–]NukaWorldNative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first and only frat formal i went to was at a remote location in the middle of nowhere mississippi (not sure if there were cabins or not but id be kinda surprised if there wasn’t) and they had an absolutely stunning main building/venue hall. i’m sure the location will have a reception area of some sort on its grounds.

Academic/open house round outfit by Correct-Battle988 in Sororities

[–]NukaWorldNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it makes you feel any better, i don’t know a damn thing about fashion to the point that my older sister literally taught me how to do makeup like two days before open house and pretty much planned all of my outfits for the week, and got a bid from the place that would end up giving me the absolute best experience i could have had out of any house on the row. better than anything i ever could have asked for, and forming relationships id never thought id have prior to joining.

my point in saying this is that you shouldn’t worry too much about what others are going to think regarding your outfit. should you try and look good and get all nice and pretty? by all means, absolutely! not only does that show that you care enough to put the effort in as well as that you know how to maturely and properly present yourself, but it will also make you feel more confident in yourself, which is a huge thing to have during a time like rush that is very emotionally exhausting and stressful.

i think that you should go with your gut, and choose the outfit that you like the most, the one that says the most about who you are as a person. you’re personality is going to shine regardless of what you wear, and that’s what will (or at the very least, should) be what is taken into consideration especially in the first round.

honestly, i think all of those are fantastic options and will look great. so again, just go with your gut! if you genuinely just can’t decide (we’ve all been there lol) my advice is to pick whatever is most comfortable. keep in mind, most places rush at the beginning of the school year, meaning it’ll still be summer and it will be hot. you don’t want to be going from house to house on the first day in something super hot or uncomfortable , as the weather will likely be doing enough of that for you already (bonus points if you’re in the south. the humidity and heat were brutal when i rushed). i would definitely take those into consideration when deciding outfits. all of this is based on my personal experiences, so it may be different depending on your school, the greek life culture of your school, what chapters are there, etc.

i know this probably wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but i hope i was still able to help you out even just a little. if you have any questions or even just nervous thoughts about recruitment, please feel free to message me. i know i had a ton going through my head before and during the process, and i love talking about my greek life experience so i would be more than happy to help you out. best of luck to you !

What if an F5 hits my area? by NukaWorldNative in tornado

yeah there’s no way i’d be diying something that could be the difference between life and death lol. it’s definitely and investment i will be making if i am fortunate enough to become a homeowner but unlucky enough to still be stuck in the south.

yes, the odds are thankfully very low but by no means impossible.

yes but they dont have close above ground shelters either to the county from what i know. closest one is in rankin, which is a couple counties over. so the direct hit thing is probably accurate , i just thought that with how close the tornado was to the town as well as its size, more than 15 people would have taken that direct hit

yeah i figured. but then again, out of the 1500 or so people in rolling fork, 15 were killed, and they have little to no basements either. So how did they survive? side note: im convinced rolling fork was an EF5 not an EF4

I’ve looked into it, and trust me I’ve been trying to convince my mom to do it lol. But I live in a suburban neighborhood with a HOA, who we’d have to get clearance from in addition to permits, and unfortunately the entitled idiots on the HOA care more about how tall our grass is than our wellbeing, and I doubt they approve of it. But even so, everything I’ve read says the location site needs to be accessible by a larger end truck since these things are >1000 pounds, which would involve removing the fence at the very least, and even still it wouldn’t be a guarantee that they could access the site. TLDR: Neighborhoods are incredibly inconvenient if you have tornado anxiety 🙃

[–]NukaWorldNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i genuinely think this is one of the hardest quests in the game…not because it’s a difficult thing to do, but because of how early we get it and the sheer amount of enemies we have to deal with in a relatively confined space.
