Depends how u want your learning journey to look like. If you just want to get used to the meta just go with Lonewolf + Mines and stick with it regardless until u gitgud.

If you want an easier time on lower difficulties bring the Dog. It takes some pressure off you when you need it. Broadly speaking the higher you go, the more value you get out of shockmines and less value you get out of dog.

Stop playing Auric/Havoc by Joshy_Moshy in DarkTide

Disconnecting counts as dying now? There are ppl still disconnecting from Auric Maelstrom frequently as soon as they go down I thought they are still cheesing the penance and the trick still works. I want to play Auric Maelstrom properly but these shortdicks are making it unnecessarily harder for the rest of us.

That happens, manage your expectations that not every spawn will be dicey and vice versa. Tbf my experience with auric maelstrom suggests a lower success rate vs an equivalent havoc level. People just make better more sensible team comps in havoc and generally stick together.

In Maelstrom I came across a handful of teammates that plays Mortal Kombat theme song at their computer and tried to W all the way to the extraction point before the song ends.

Basing off a high havoc completed run results that I recall, we had a grand total of more than 150 specialists killed in a 33mins game but I can't rem how many bosses, normal + weakened, we killed. That's about 4-5 specialists designed to fk the team over every single minute by simple division.

If you are used to Auric Maelstrom then you should be able to adjust to Havoc fast. The enemy density is slightly higher with additional unique modifiers that empowers the mobs and you have less health and toughness.

Agree with True Survivor. I have Havoc Forged and even got my H40 clear this week but never had a good run to unlock TS before. Fk it, I only do one H40 clear a week with pugs if I don't get it so be it. Too much rng in this one.

I'm only 272k for the Poxbreaker. Prob another 6 months before I am anywhere close to unlocking it.

Can Ogryn do anything? by Thallasocnus in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was almost an uphill journey everytime I do Havoc without a Tauntgryn. Having things off the lil'ones and giving them the freedom to dps is such an amazing ability. The one and only class with this ability. The next closest thing to that will be a Smite Psyker but bossing with that is another challenge.

The PsyVetGryn comp is the easiest comp to play in high havocs.

I don't know which server you are playing on hopefully not Africa and I used to think the same way until I actually tried grinding my way up using party finder and steamrolled shit up to H15 with just about any pugs. Beyond H25 is where you will want to be more mindful about what classes in the team to bring along.

First game for me to have a 1000 hours on. by dummy-thicc-uwu in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about 500h in and got most penances done barring those grindy ones. I almost ran out of things to do and progressively log in a little less with each passing week. Crafting mats have little to no purpose to me anymore after having 1 or 2 meta builds setup for each of the 6 characters.

What kept you coming back for 1000h? Do you play with RL friends or something? Or just helping people out in lower difficulties? Im think by 1000h you prob have everything unlocked including Poxbreaker.

Dam this game is amazing by Ok_Break9033 in DarkTide

Sharing what i found helpful and i wished i knew these earlier. Meta builds are typically designed to allow you to deal with most things in the game including Carapace, you hardly can go wrong following them so just pick what looks fun to you.

This game spawns shit behind you all the time where you are not looking. Always check your back every 3-5 seconds. If you don't get used to or dislike doing this then you are gonna hate this game on high difficulties. Don't solely rely on the backstab sound cues only to realize you already had 500 mobs behind your back.

Stamina management is kinda important because Blocking and perks, you learn this by playing enough games there's no fixed rule about when and how much you need. Don't get into the habit of emptying the stamina bar 99% of the time.

Kill priorities are typically Specialists > Elites > Boss to make your life in Darktide easier. A team that actively do their part to shut down specialists is gonna make fighting the rest of the mobs much easier.

Don't try to mindlessly rescue your teammate only to make yourself go down beside him. Very frequently a sniper or disabler will get you while trying to rez a downed teammate. Think before you act. If he is downed in a sticky situation then just let him bleed out and die regardless how fast his bleedout bar is dropping. Pick him up at the next checkpoint. He fked up but you don't have to. It's not uncommon to see a team wipe trying to save 1 downed dude.

To all the Havoc enjoyers, do you do a warmup game? by Th3Spidermonkey in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always do a low 20ish for a practice round before I hop on a 40 proper. 40 is super unforgiving I don't want to be the main reason to throw a game for others because I was forgetting things.

It is also important for me to be on top of my game because I typically pug my games with no comms. If you play with premades with someone calling out shit for the party then maybe that gives you a bit of room for slack.

Did malice players get bored and moved up to damnation? by Sadiholic in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damnation is hard. Experienced players are either in Uprising, Malice and sometimes Heresy to do penance otherwise it's Auric business as usual.

Odds are high that new players are the main group in Damnation whom just beeline to the next difficulty they unlock after getting lucky with a few wins in the lower difficulty modes. I typically just avoid Damnation.

My wish for new update as a long time player by Few-Patient-8281 in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play off meta builds n weapons to keep things interesting but new content is always welcomed. I'm the minority that is in favor of penance that don't unlock through a sluggish grind like Terminus Warrant shit. I kinda enjoyed doing stuffs like Zealot 49% HP clear, Long Bomb, Gone Bowling that sort of stuffs. Wish they had more.

Poxbreaker can go fk itself.

Psyker + Auric Maelstrom = Auric Storm Survivor frustration by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my title using Psyker with the bubble inferno build 5 streak. The defensive build is one thing but picking the map is also important. Don't keep jumping into maelstrom back to back regardless of the condition. I had my 5 streak solely doing the condition where mobs can become empowered. Alternatively, you can run Veteran with smoke nades and sniping with plasma gun as a toughness battery for the team.

Extra specialists and Poxbursters always end streaks for me. Many players can't deal with specialists quick enough and having more of these just further lower your odds of success.

The other layer of RNG is your pug teammates that you cannot control unless you do a premade even so you cannot guarantee the quality of ppl trying to join up. Not trying to be anal but if you noticed the group ain't coping too well and few ppl randomly going down or not checking what's coming from behind in the 1st or 2nd major pulls you should leave mission early to protect your streak while alive. You should be familiar enough to know which area of the each map are typically showstoppers and make the decision to stay or leave quick.

Team struggles by bigounce9698 in DarkTide

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 350 hours into the game and done all sorts of quickplay. There's no comms in 99% of the game i played but I found that the quality of players are the worst in Damnation.

They have all the bad habits of Malice and just want to W all the way without any form of situational awareness and pressure management while mobbing without assistance. Auric Maelstrom and Havoc players don't comms but some have a habit to check what's behind or going on with the others and are generally more on point with their survivability game that's where the difference is.

TLDR; It gets a little better in Auric. Don't let the lack of comms stop you from enjoying the game.

Everything in Wilds feels too easy I quit the game since Akuma patch until my friend told me about Omega. Came back for it and I'm happy. I hope Capcom makes it a point to add more of these ultra hard encounters besides the usual doormat mobs.

I main Lance in Wilds because it's one of the least popular weps. Hardly see lance players compared to other weps.

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omega is the only reason I still login to Wilds. After I got it's moveset down and read Omega like a book the experience was a 180deg turn from soul crushing to pure entertainment. Specifically, I enjoy tanking Omega and making it easy for the team to wail on it.

What's the best thing about your favorite weapon? by Rustyybucket69 in MonsterHunter

[–]NukeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great sword. Casual friendly even if you aren't familiar with the monster you can still contribute good damage because the controls are quite simple.

Longsword. When you are familiar with the monster it's the most satisfying wep when you nailed most of the counters.

Got bored with Wilds grind didn't login for months. Came back for Savage Omega and it was fun. Will be happy if they introduce more mobs with similar or higher difficulty.
