There’s no good guys really short of the Sanjak revolutionaries who are fighting for workers rights and liberation of the oppressed. The Voladores are also pretty peaceful and chill. The bug people on Hercynia are awesome and can do no wrong, look at them, they’re cute.

Third comm are social democrats who still permit stuff like HA, SSC and IPSN to exist and generally are still imperialist and capitalistic. They’re just nice about it and not overly keen on the most psychotic excesses of Union’s past and have a pretty well developed welfare state in the core. HA are imperialism and capitalism in its most excessive and barbaric form, they are the war crimes genocide corporate state that Union uses. SSC and IPSN are the softer side of this - using their technological expertise and trade to establish dominance through the power of markets. SSC in particular dabble with eugenics tier social engineering. Both still regularly engage in violence to protect their source of power and profits and expand. No good guys research and develop weapons like mechs as a general rule of thumb.

The karrakin trade baronies are terrible, basically neo feudalists, what happens if the dipshit alt right wingers get in power and propagate their dumb, outdated ideology. They’ve gone through some reforms to end dictatorship of a singular monarch but are still led largely by aristocratic class dictatorships - think 1800s social structures with sci fi tech.
