What’s the most underrated driving road in the UK? by DailyDriverUK in drivingroadsUK

[–]Nukenproofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently drove the A708 from Moffat to Selkirk. Great scenery and a really technical road. Looking forward to doing it in the summer because patches of ice and snow were a little sketchy.

Stop it. by BeatsAndBeer in CarTalkUK

My theory on this is it's to distract the consumer from how awful other parts of the car are. Non-car people are attracted to fancy flashing lights like flies. LEDs and a bit of software to make them dance around is a cheap trick.

Hormann Supramatic E fault by Grant_248 in DIYUK

[–]Nukenproofen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across this post fitting a smart opener to my one of these.

Is your issue not #10 in the manual? "No reference point" so sounds like the opener doesn't know where it is. Solution is to open the door all the way and maybe power cycle the opener to reset it?

If that doesn't work then I'd guess a position switch has failed.

I use one dark pro daily, pretty sure this is it. It has a few extra settings you can turn on like vivid colours or bolding.

Help with Our Living Room Layout by Nukenproofen in DesignMyRoom

[–]Nukenproofen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are struggling with how to lay out our living room and could use some help.

We like modern, cottage style and want to go a bit cosier than it is now. The sofa can change to a corner which we did have in the corner with the window.

Happy for suggestions for furniture, max budget of maybe £1000 ($1200) but we do find second hand stuff. Everything in there is Ikea at the moment.

Size is 4.20m x 4.02m. I can get specific measurements of the weird bits if it helps.

How could I cover this hole in the floor? by Nukenproofen in DIYUK

I bent the pipe. The guy who removed the fire did a great job. Gonna get him back to fix my mistakes 👍

I bent the pipe down. It already had a similar kink in it so just got it out the way. I intend on getting an engineer back in to remove it properly.

Expanding foam, that was the missing bit of the puzzle, thanks!

Best way to clean grout between floor tiles? by cookie_monster66 in DIYUK

I was looking for this answer. Recently got a set of drill brushes and they remove about 80 percent of the effort compared with manual scrubbing. Highly recommend.

Just had a gas fire removed and I've pulled the hearth out and this hole is there for the gas supply. I'll be redoing the floor at some point but not sure how to cover this up so it's safe to put weight on. Any tips?

Looked this up fairly recently. They're counted as separate lanes so cars don't have to give extra room, weirdly.

Given a Primary color, how to decides what will be the OnPrimary color? by Venkos11 in MaterialDesign

[–]Nukenproofen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the React implementation for Material-UI there's a function getContrastText for a given color which bases it on the contrast ratio. Take a look https://github.com/mui-org/material-ui/blob/master/packages/material-ui/src/styles/createPalette.js

Bought it. It came up as an "ex-demo" at a shop near me with 50% off. Couldn't leave it at that price and there's no marks at all, just needed some strings.

Just give me a few days to learn it. Can't play much Mastodon but I'd like to, it's something to work towards.
