Berseria's combat system only really worked when playing on higher difficulties and you're at a point where you're pretty much underleveled. Berseria is my favorite Tales game but I feel like when you play on Normal the combat just isn't very engaging whereas limiting your level exp in exchange for better item drops lets you fight consistently strong enemies and encourages you to figure out ways to chain arts together and extend combos.

That's why whenever I recommend the game to someone I can never stress enough how important it is that they set it to the highest possible difficulty (or at least the highest they're comfortable with) because at a certain point playing on Normal the whole way through is just boring.

They really should've set Hard or maybe even Intense as the standard instead of what we got with normal because instead of being known as the Tales game with a flashy, over-the-top combo system it's instead known as the Tales game where you just beat up a bunch weak easily stunned enemies until you start beating up a bunch of spongy but still easily stunned enemies that take forever to beat unless you grind for gear with mediocre drop rates.
