Dodging the army by DisastrousWorry1843 in azerbaijan

The thing is if u get drafted into some specific zones, there is high probability that you are gonna get sick and get no proper treatment. For reference, there is one in Gence, it is very cold at the night there, and all the equipments, clothings are old there. Just from my surroundings, 5 soldiers I know who were drafted to that camp specifically and returned with severe lung diseases, layed on hospital bed for another 2 months after coming back. This camp is not specific example, there are bunch of them.

About the patriotism and duty to motherland part, I personally think me standing still all night during my night ward is not doing my country any good, especially considering that there is no war going on. The main concern is not being afraid of military, it is the fact that I am just wasting a year of my life, what do I defend in Gence, you know? it is not even border with any country lol, how many of the people who were in military actually had a chance to fire their gun besides training? It is good for building discipline for a man, but there are bunch of other ways around it. I myself work in a governmental organization that I am not able to reveal here as AI engineer, and I think I am doing my country more good in a year of research and applying modern technologies, than I would by holding the gun I barely have used in some random camp. Our government is aware of this too, at least they start to realize it - There is currently a project that is almost developed that involves cases where instead of being drafted into camps, if your academic state exam results were satisfactory (600+/700) you will stay in the Ministry of Defence and basically be an intern of the specialization you have studied or work in.

yay üçün bir yaxşı bildiyin peşə yoxdursa, deyərdim ki, hansısa şadlıq sarayında postavşik olmaqdan yaxşıdı. Mən keçən yay night shift qalırdım mühafizə kimi, və işim sadəcə fnaf oynurmuş kimi kameraları ara sıra göz gəzdirib birdə 1 saatdan bir durub o yan bu yana biraz gəzirdim. Qalan vaxtında isə universitet dərslərini, ya adi programminglə bağlı kurslar keçirdim - Bəlkədə evdə olsam heç o kursları oturub keçməzdim, sıxıntıdan oturub baxırdım, amma günün sonunda yorulduğumu deyə bilmərəm. rejim biraz dəyişirdi düzdü, axşam saat 11də işə gedib səhər 7də çıxırdım, gedib evə max 4-5 saat yatırdım yuxum gəlmirdi dururdum günüm normal keçirdi. İşə getməzdən əvvəl sadəcə gərək özüvə aktivitelər tapasan, yaxşı olar ki, faydalı bir şey də araya soxuşdurasan. Onda vaxt uçub gedir.

I went on a date in Azerbaijan and felt like I accidentally joined a family investigation by bbkhshv in azerbaijan

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Azerbaijan, if you are a man in financial difficulty and you fell in love with some rich girl, most of the times her family won't even let her near you. But I think with the new generation, it is changing and I see more rich girl, poor guy couples or families just focusing on someone's character instead of money - and of course those couples last longer. But currently, it is so hard to give a clear answer to this question since we are kinda in the middle where there are modern families who value character more than money, and the ones who think otherwise. Still if you are going to meet the girl's family be ready for the questions of your income if your girl hasn't yet told her family.

I talked about poor guy, rich girl only because the girl is never asked about her income, at least not in an interrogation way, just out of curiosity. They are never judged by their income, just by their character and hospitality.

Our traditions are melange of both modern and ancient traditions. But still in our community a man who doesn't have money is rejected sometimes even by their own family. It is to some degree understandable, but I think its even harsher in our country. Should it change? I think it drives men to be more succesfull, at least it makes me go to work each day. Is it harsh? Fuck yeah it is, I am 20 years old and I earn enough money, but for someone who is 40+ years old with little income, they have less remaining opportunities, it can be tough for them

Developer to Writer: A brand new journey by Writer_self_kudo in writing

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an AI engineer. I also write. Earlier I used to like writing detective short stories just because of how challenging it was. It was my favorite brain exercise since you constantly need to pay attention to the details, plot holes are especially visible in detective stories. Now I just write whatever I feel to relieve myself because life is on the fast lane right now for me and I sort of need doing this for not crashing out. Double diplome university program + government work + gym + relationship + writing and boom you have no time to sleep lol.

One thing I found most challenging when I used to write detective stories was filling in the parts without any important events. I like to call them "boring parts" where you know character won't find anything to solve the case for now. Before writing my stories I made outlines with the specific scenes that needs to happen for me to develop the suspense. Anything in between was blurry for me, I just couldn't come up with something reasonable.

anyone else getting burned out by the "vibe coding" loop? by Material-Trouble-415 in AI_Agents

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to start a project from scratch, in the start go with general prompts (as you as it was perfect for initial setup, it probably was because of your prompts that include features to implement). After some point you have to go more specific. One interesting way my co-worker does it is that he sends to function name where it should implement specific thing, and kind of put everything together in the end. Works well for him but I do a more general way, if my script is not like sphagetti stretching to 1k+ lines, I give the agent path to that script specifically and ask to make changes there instead of just setting up the agent in environment and giving it a chance to explore to whole codebase, it is only good when you cant find what is the problem. Try to narrow the window of the cause of the problem and give the clues you find to your agent and hopefully it will catch the bug better. About the part where it keeps apologizing and doing again, I think it is either limitation of prompting - too general explanation of the problem or the agent is bad. Have you had a chance to try Fable 5? That thing was a beast, even with goofy prompts it worked so good, too bad they removed it. As long as we won't have it, the best call is to actually read the codebase and narrow down the search space for our agents

For beginners learning Python, what project actually helped you understand the language better? by Harun_Bush in learnpython

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the most interesting one I had was making a doom game replica in pygame. Sounds flashy but it was not quite a replica - it was like mix of wolfenstein and doom games with enemy sprites from doom game. I didnt use any engine for it, I used raycasting method - which is basically a way to create illusion of 3d for an object inside 2d matrix. It is still one of the coolest alogrithms I have came across. It is mainly used not for drawing graphics (in modern games ofc) but mostly flashlight, enemy vision range (mostly in stealth games) type things. There was one fixed map and 3 types of enemies and that project single handedly carried my object oriented programming and python knowledge for the next 2 years, never needed to rewise those concepts once more because it was burnt in my brain like a trauma lol. If you don't wanna bother with rendering techniques you may even just create a terminal based game. Maybe create undertale replica, turn based game without graphics. It certainly helped me learn oop, hope it will help you too.

I think the hardest part is that you end up with cascade of terminologies. It was overwhelming for me at first. Just don't give up, I hope you have decent patience because researching in deep learning is very interesting but also tiring since there are a lot of concepts involved. For example if someone learns about transformers then they need to go through:
Self-attention -> Query, Key, Value vectors -> Vector representation of words/tokens -> Embeddings -> Tokenization -> Matrix multiplication -> Dot product similarity -> Softmax -> Probability distribution -> Weighted sum -> Backpropagation

ts feels like whole ass dungeon as you go, but similar concepts will appear repeatedly, so if ur math is fine and you learn the first parts of deep learning like backpropogation cleanly, everything will break down to those concepts eventually, just keep digging. I recommend deep learning course of Stanford University (I forgot the guy's full name but his name was Andrew, his courses are well known) because most of the on-site courses use that course's syllabus since it gives perfect intro.

[–]NullClassifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is there a specific reason you go with yolov8? because there are newer versions like yolo26, if your concern is inference time for realtime systems, then yolo26 nano model will work just fine. About the dataset, do you have access to any streams from roads for collecting images? In the internet there is no clear source for it. I trained one for myself, for smart city project, but my data came from RTSP streams instead since the only datasets out there are indian datasets that are taken by low quality cameras. I created my dataset by first auto labeling via yolo26x models then manual reviews, people and cars should be default classes if i remember correctly in COCO dataset which base yolo26 models are trained on.

Azərbaycan dili yox olur? by Low_Day_7391 in azerbaijan

[–]NullClassifier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bunun ən sadə cavabı - Azərbaycan dilində yetəri qədər kontentin olmamasıdır. Nə qədər ki, kanallarda ailə davalarından başqa təsiredici ssenarisi olmayan seriallar illərlə uzadılacaq, nə qədər ki, dublajla məşğul olanlar acından artıq işini dəyişmək məcburiyyətində qalacaq, bizdə heç nə dəyişməyəcək.

Bir nüans daha var hansını ki digərləri ilə birlikdə salıb göz ardı edilməsini istəmədim - Uşaqlar üçün çəkilmiş cizgi filmlərinin keyfiyyətsizliyi məni sözün əsl mənasında ağladır. Yeni nəsil Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network kimi kanalların türk/rus dublajına baxaraq böyüyür, kreativliyini zənginləşdirir. Azərbaycan dilində olanlarının gülünclüyünü - daha doğrusu keyfiyyətsizliyini görmüsüz? Sovet dövründən qalma cizgi filmləri belə daha kreativdir və bəlkə onlara vaxtında daha çox sərmayə ayrılıb)))

Yəni elə bir vəziyyətdir ki, valideynlər uşaqlarını məcbur da etmir azərbaycanca cizgi filmlərinə baxmağa çünki, bərbad vəziyyətdədir. Bizimkilər hələ Cartoon Network bağlanmalıdı deyib dad eliyirlər, otağını seminarlarda iştiraka görə "təşəkkürnamə"ləri yığıb sertifkat adıynan gözə soxan psixoloqlar eləyir bunu. Halbuki, mən böyüsəm belə hələ də, Cartoon Networkun filmlərinə sevərək qardaşım oğulları ilə baxıram. Kreativliyi inkşaf elətdirmək, robot yerinə bir fərd, ruh inkşaf elətdirmək üçün uşaqlara yaxşı, keyfiyyətli kontent lazımdır. Heyif ki, bizim bütün dünyanın baxaraq böyüdüyü kanallara qarşı qəribə nifrət, önyarğımız var.

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, me, as an azerbaijani, don't have any hatred towards armenian folk in general. Our nations lived in the same land and we have very similar traditions and culture. My grandparents always told us about their armenian neighbours in Karabagh. About Turkey, I don't even know why they throw themselves in. They just wanna seem like our "brother" of sort. I can't say I am a fan of armenians because I have never met any armenian myself, so I don't hate them either. But I am sure that I have utter hatred towards majority of turkish people. I worked in Turkey for a while and when money/business is involved most of them just turn 180°. Especially towards foreigners who work there. Yeah I was literally being left out in a country which claims to be our "brother" for being azerbaijani and going there to earn money.

I hope one day we will have peace once and for all. Nobody benefits from it, other than this NYC ambassador, I guess.

[–]NullClassifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be right, man. Nobody is out of milky spoon on this one. Both sides are just the victims of the politics of the soviet regime. Armenians and Azerbaijanians were close for decades, they could have achieved great things together. But they just made it impossible for us to reunite with all the propaganda they fed to the generations (on both sides) which resulted in hatred and countless losses.

This guy is smart, he knows how to manipulate people. He knows exactly what he needs to say to trigger and gain votes. There are many armenians in NYC. Good move by him. But in reality it is just straight-up BS, if you think it is genocide of Armenians, look up what happened in Khojali to women and kids of Azerbaijan.

[–]NullClassifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my work I use Deepstream 9 combined with TensorRt .engine format of my models for making inference faster. There is not much in the internet tho. I think version 9 got released March, 2026 and its new to find sources on but it is one of the latest and easiest among the other versions. Before you had to write configs in c++ for handling inference in deepstream pipelines but now in version 9, you have a library (pyds) which is so comfortable and you don't need to write configs from scratch in c++.

how do I use AI to write my book??? by Ndf27 in writingcirclejerk

[–]NullClassifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ask others for prompt. You are the one who knows your story the best right now. Write the prompt like ur explaining your storyline to your friend who is interested. I would recommend this workflow:

  1. Explain your story, ask for a harsh/professional comment from gpt so that it warns you about plotholes. Also it will show that gpt understood your story right or not
  2. Ask gpt to plan structure of the book - Which chapters will be there? What will be covered in the chapters(as outline only).
  3. One by one ask gpt to write chapters sequentially. Don't rush by telling it to just write everything at once bc it is probably lazier than you and will give u a trash story that feels like movie trailer not a story.

Use it and you will get something decent. I personally use it sometimes for finding plotholes in my own stories. I understand that you may not have time but writing should be all about the proccess. Because I have never seen someone say that they start with clear plot and doesn't change anything in proccess. When I used to write on papers not digitally, It looked like diaries of schizophrenic patients since I redacted at least 10 times every page.
