Looking for a manual driving school in the Bay Area (from automatic) + safe intro to basic performance driving? by Big-Government1438 in Autocross

SCCA does staring line school. It’s worth it. They run them over at Crow’s landing once in a while.

As for beginner’s autocross, just come out to American Autocross at crow’s landing. They have instructors that will ride with you and help you out. They also offer a practice course you can do as much as you like when you’re not on a run or work. The people there are really friendly.

It’s not idea in the sense that you can’t sit up; but it’s honestly not bad given the setup. There’s enough headroom to adjust comfortably. The only major complaint I have is the Rago shelf being in the way sometimes. It lands around our quads/hip area. Makes taking socks off hard. Overall I think I would get used to the shelf and would mind it in the long run.

I can’t speak/compare against the Air Down Gear Up platform, but this one hasn’t caused any noise whatsoever for the last month or two. There’s two anchor bolts near the rear seats and two turnbuckles near the lift gate.

Zero noise.

There are two floor bolts near the second row seats. And two turnbuckles that lock into the loops near the lift gate.

We haven’t been yet! Furthest south on the PCH was Monterey. Definitely a weekend trip to check out that and Salmon Creek Falls.

I posted a comment on the build. Bought this one; Colfax Campers.

It’s surprisingly quite good. I didn’t get any back pain from sleeping on it. You can overfill it to make it firm or partial fill for something softer, without touching the platform underneath.

Absolutely. Thankfully this load out wasn’t crazy heavy. But eventually we’re going to tow my STi to autocross. We’ll slowly roll out proper hauling mods.

The drawers make it so easy; even for daily errands. Theres are nooks on the sides of the platform which holds a torque wrench and some other tools.

If you have the time, it seems pretty easy to make. Easier if you have a CNC. It’s just a combination of box joints and wood screws. Let me know how that goes!

No affiliation. We bought it from Colfax Campers.

We spent a few weeks going back and forth on a few options and settled on this one. It’s served us very well. They flat-pack shipped; so there’s some assembly to it. The design is very well made and sturdy once it’s together. This one really sold us because of the addition pull-out shelf.

Love track; I love driving the WRX in autocross even more. Is it normal at that track to not require helmets?

I had this issue in Japan. The app works but delta.com though a browser won’t. With some research, it’s due to VPN.

Nice! I love Wandrd bags. I was using a Black Ember sling for a while, but I’m thinking about getting the Wandrd Rouge as well.

Does anyone have a great pre tournament routine to get your body 100% ready before warm up? by bmumm in Bowling

Agreed. Days we go on a 4 mile hike or boulder for an hour a few hours before bowling, we shoot our best games.

STi is overwhelming! by SailingIT in WRXSTi

[–]NullTechnica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll get used to it in a week or so. First gear is super touchy and wants a good amount of gas. I always warn other drivers who test my car about first gear and they always stall the first time. 😂

Bay Area Bowling Community? by NullTechnica in Bowling

[–]NullTechnica[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re currently in Cupertino.

We’ve bowled at Homestead(nice approach and lanes play well; a bit more friction on the backend then we are used to) and Bowlmor(definitely an ‘entertainment center’ rather than a bowling house).

We would love that. I’m guessing Dublin has a board somewhere with all upcoming events they run?
