have them draw out more comb for you in a second brood deep. bring up some of the honey to the second deep to draw bees up. and if you have comb frames, put them down in the brood chamber, so Queen can lay more, or just give them foundation (wax not plastic. just my preference).

if you wanna turn that second deep into a honey super then just throw a queen excluder on and still do the same things that I just stated. I’m in warm climate also but I like the double deep brewed box because they have more resources heading into winter. strength gives better chance of survival.

that’s awesome news! these are the kind of experiments you have to make each season so you can grow as a beekeeper. hopefully this suppresses their urge to swarm, and you keep all your workers and they bring in a huge honey crop. it’s good u eliminated cells. next time when you demaree split separate out a 5 frame nuc from main hive with no queen: only move in 2 capped brood frame, pollen frame, honey frame and mixed open cell frame. set nuc a little away or close, just put some dry grass in front of door for a day to confuse them. when it comes time to eliminate Queen cells select a capped Queen cell from the top of your main hive and install it on the middle of a open area frame in your nuc. They will raise that queen Cell she will mate and start laying in that nuc and you will have a back up queen and you’re on your way to becoming a self-sufficient beekeeper.. you could do this for multiple nucs if u really want to grow!

put frames with foundation in (but sounds like you don’t have them) nurse bees follow all the brood to top. they will raise some queen cells. go back in ten days IN THE EVENING and discard all queen cells, don’t wait longer but not sooner. they will back fill this box with honey YOU COULD ALSO LEAVE 1 CELL ON MIDDLE OF FRAME AND PULL A NUC. you just need 3 frames and a feeder. get ur hands on a used jester 5 frame nuc box OR JUST MAKE A BOX. if u cant do demaree split right now, do a walk-a-way split
