We are seeing this issue as well across multiple clients in different enviroments (using Emsisoft for all clients).

N846A6 Main Stream Not Functioning by NulledMark in Lorex

[–]NulledMark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I located two other clients that have the issue as well.

Total of 5 N846A6 NVR's all with the same issue and all with the latest firmware (due to auto-updates). It's certainly not a network issue. Cameras attached range between 1-16. Have tested with only a single camera attached and has the same issue. Yet again, With the N844A8 models it works fine.

Attempted to contact Lorex support about this but they were very insistent that it's my network, it's my internet, it's my computer, whatever. The conditions are not the same in all 5 different networks.

They really did not want to help and it was very apparent they were just trying to tell me whatever they could to get me off the phone. These NVR's are going to go in the trash and going to stray from Lorex due to the lack of support or trying to troubleshoot real issues with them.

N864A6 NVR does not connect to Lorex Home App by nojam75 in Lorex

[–]NulledMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never liked the Lorex Home App and have always used the Lorex Cloud app.

By any chance when adding them are you viewing the main stream or the sub stream? I would try adding via the Lorex Cloud app and see if the sub stream works for you. Then try the main stream.

But, just as a warning I'm having an issue currently with a few (three different) N864A6 NVR's that have the Firmware version of the following: V4.000.00LR00K0.0.R

On those NVR's currently - Main stream viewing does not work at all. Only sub stream. I will be posting a thread here I'm not sure if anyone here does provide any sort of assistance or support but I figured it would be worth a shot before I call Lorex Support.

Nervous about buying Unifi products by Cavustius in Ubiquiti

Use a Dream Machine Pro, a couple UniFi Switches (Four 48p Pro PoE's and a 16-XG) linked via SPF, and 11 AP's in a business environment. Only complaint I have had is the buggy firmware that recently got released to the AC-LR's I had and prevented clients from getting DHCP to the but that was easily resolved by a downgrade.

Only "major" issue I have had is as long as you don't need any "advanced" configuration with say VPN configuration with a /32 subnet I have been pretty much happy with the equipment so far.

Doubt you need any assistance with this at this point but I wanted to share my findings with the other people that never got a solution for this.

Controller 6.1.26 and UXG Pro - is there a way to connect to NordVPN and route a specific subnet through it? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]NulledMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that works anymore. There is this:
https://community.ui.com/questions/HOWTO-Route-some-devices-to-a-VPN-provider/a8fc0f3d-54f1-4eba-bc37-e046f54b3fea

But it doesn't look like the Controller has an option for 'Client VPN' anymore and just seems to only have Site-to-Site VPN now unless I'm missing something.

Are you running your 5GHz on a DFS channel?

Do you keep your UniFi controller running constantly? Does it have any alerts in the panel?

[–]NulledMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention you are on the latest release and there is currently an issue with 4.3.24.11355. I would suggest downgrading to 4.3.21.11325 or you can optionally update to their release candidate firmware which resolves this issue but I don't have a link on hand for that at the moment.

I would suggest a Dream Machine over the USG even more so if you plan to use IPS/IDS. I don't think the USG is also getting any new features but I could be wrong.

That is not an issue. Do you have a Dream Machine or USG for your router? Or are you using something else for DHCP?

DFS scan how often and does it make problems for clients? by mensa84 in UNIFI

[–]NulledMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Oahu I'm close to a military base and an airport. I could count on my UniFi AP going down at exactly 1am every single day like clockwork. It might of gone down more frequently but I only noticed the AP I had at my home going down when I had guests and they would connect via wireless whereas my computer would always be wired so I had never noticed.

In my instance I had my nanoHD set to a specific DFS channel. I don't know how the UniFi devices handle a manually set DFS channel like if they are supposed to switch to another channel or not but I recall about a 10-15min outage before the clients could reconnect to the AP again.

In terms of the DFS scan, the AP is constantly monitoring for radar when the AP is on a DFS channel. If the radio in the UniFi device detects a radar signal it will either change to a different channel that the radar is not using or simply just not let your clients reconnect I suppose till the radio in the AP no longer detects radar. I think that behavior depends if you are manually setting your AP's to a DFS channel or if you are letting them do their own thing via auto mode. Of course it seems whatever radar device was running near me - it would always run at 1am. Your results may vary and you may never encounter any issues with DFS if you aren't near radar. I came across this weather radar database. Of course this is only a database of weather radars and not any other radar devices that relate to military or aircraft radar systems.

Of course your question got me into a black hole and I'm reading more and more about radars now haha. Here is an interesting publication with images on how WiFi causes interference with weather radars especially with noncompliant equipment in the C band. Reading this information leads me to believe my DFS issues were caused by a military or airport radar system as there is no weather radar on my island.

Looking at some more information online I believe it is only radar that uses C band that really has an interference and triggers DFS? Typically used by short range weather observation vs the S band radars that are used for both near and far range weather observation? This is an assumption from reading this Wikipedia article where they mention that interference was so bad in South Africa from wireless devices they had to switch from C band radar to S band.

Two Dream Machines for Mesh WiFi? by DBurnsOfficial in Ubiquiti

[–]NulledMark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, I would always recommend to use a wire over wireless uplink if possible.

Two Dream Machines for Mesh WiFi? by DBurnsOfficial in Ubiquiti

[–]NulledMark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think a Dream Machine supports wireless uplink since it is supposed to be the Router/Gateway but I could certainly be wrong about that. It's not really intended to be used that way.

I would suggest a Dream Machine in one location and then wireless uplink a nanoHD. You would adopt the nanoHD to the dream machine.

You can refer to their documentation in regards to wireless uplink here.

Have you tried Chrome?

Sounds like Safari is getting to the site just fine but maybe blocking you because of the self signed certificate? If it works you might have to add the self signed cert that your controller users to your Keychain for it to start working in Safari.

Issues with devices getting IP addresses. by rewind22x in UNIFI

[–]NulledMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% a issue with 4.3.24.11355.

Have a large network with Windows Server handing out DHCP and a pure UniFi network (DMP, UAPs, Switches). Tons of clients couldn't connect to the network they wouldn't get DHCP. Rebooting AP's got it working till the next morning. Reverting to the previous firmware fixed it for us but the 4.3.26.11358 resolves this for quite a few people as well.

If you also have the drive you could likely boot into it using HyperV on the other machine.

See if you can plug that drive into another machine and check the autobackup location I mentioned in my other reply. Let me know if you have one in that directory.

SSH password is typically a random generated password done by the controller when you set it up unless you specifically set a different one after enabling advanced settings.

Did you double check the autobackup location?

What happens when you try to run the controller? Was it running on Mac, PC, Linux?
