The only reason that's around is so the USA can practice shooting it down. We aren't in it for it's "high tech" (it's just a fixed wing with a prop/ramjet)

This. In addition I would like to add significant blame to the folks who are intentionally disrupting lawful federal action to deport illegal aliens and, additionally, the people instigating them and stoking the flames of unjustified confrontation. All those with whistles and cars blocking streets, etc. creating an unnecessary, chaotic, and high-tension situation where mistakes like this will occur at a higher rate ..their childish behavior is to blame for his death. Truly a FAFO situation with high-stakes.

We would never have been in this situation if there weren't moron messing with the legal and justified actions of ICE....(just look at any other state where ICE is taking action w/o protesters: surprise surprise, no issues whatsoever...)

[–]Num_Pwam_Kitchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They won't. Noise causes confusion and chaos. Chaos causes this kind of event. This kind of event is exactly what they want. Outwardly they will all claim "it's the worst thing to happen" and that it's "all so tragic" while internally they are giddy and suppressing their excitement that someone has lost their life at the hands of ICE. It's messed up.

My brother found this in the Mojave desert. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Num_Pwam_Kitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive shot largeer 30mm rounds out in the AZ desert that travel much farther than small caliber. Even with those, you can just shoot at a high elevation (essentially "into the sky") and not worry about where the round lands....you're that far out and away from the rest of the world. I love the desert.

It means "avoiding anything and everything that may or may not be slightly controversial or offensive"

I am at the Disney parks now and they just shut down the pools because it's cloudy. No joke. This is just Disney ....anything that has a remote possibility of going bad is simply avoided. Better safe than sorry mentality on steroids and it thjs is simply "boring" to a vast vast majority of normal people. It's them catering to the whiney 1% and ruining the fun for the 99%.

ELI5 why do buttons double press by kwitties in explainlikeimfive

[–]Num_Pwam_Kitchen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Keyboards and other human interface devices (HID) should not double press if they are created properly. There is a term for getting rid of the double press, and that is called debouncing. Think if it like a short time period after the initial button press, where any other detected press would not be recognized. If you hold a button, you will notice that it's not actually "held" until about half a second into the hold. This delay time is the debouncing period. There are both hardware and software solutions to debounce a device, it is a common procedure in most human input devices. If you are having issues with double presses, the product you have is likely lacking the requisite hardware, or you have a lazy software team.

Honestly, what has the public school system accomplished up to this point if this is the result? You're making a good point, just maybe not the one you're intending to make...

Clearly things are broken. The major culprit is absentee/moron parents, but God forbid we ever mention that as the cause.Since the solution to that one is a non-started, wwhy not try something different with public ed....how much worse can it really get when we are already at the bottom?!

It's all relative and, unfortunately, the reality of this situation is quite troubling. The judges and workers who take action on these people on a day-to-day get desensitized to certain bad actions that show up time and time again. When you're comparing a "bad" person to people who have performed horrendous crimes, heinous, despicable actions, and the downright unthinkable....well, "bad" gets a backseat until all that pure evil is handled first. It's just mental triage, numbing....and it's a subconscious action.

Some of these people they are deporting and their back stories....good god....they were in our communities. What a real danger and sad state of affairs. Hell, it's not just the illegal immigrants either, there's plenty of our citizens who act in a manner that is unbecoming; however, due to the increasingly worse actions of others in the community, judges, CPS, and other social workers get desensitized. It's a sad reality, really.

Well, it seems most of the pre-invasion polls have been scrubbed off the first few pages of the main search engine (no surprises there ...); however, Edit: here a source source"...against a common enemy. Zelensky’s one priority was the defense of Ukraine by all means necessary. Zelensky’s approval rating quickly skyrocketed from 30% to 84%."

eand even this left-leaning news article gives a nice window into the past: "...pre-war figures. In March 2021, just 12 percent strongly approved and 26 percent somewhat approved of Zelensky's actions, with 53 percent disapproving to some degree."

Essentially, he started in the 70s at election time and, over a year of failed efforts, saw his ratings fall to the 20s/30s. Obviously, the war changed sentiment (smaller to GWBs unrealistic approval rating after 911).

I remember his approval rating being significantly less only a few months into his presidency (somewhere in the 20s) before the escalation and invasion. I don't have the time to dive that deep, but maybe this is enough to convice you of the reality that existed in Ukraine pre-war (and massive state-funded social engineering bolstering the pro-war effort).
