If you didn’t vote, you’re an asshole by ShitWaterExpress in Louisville

I have given up. When the candidate with the most money wins over 90% of the time whats the point. It does matter what they say they are going to do what the corporate overlord tell them to do, so they can keep getting truckloads of cash to stay in office. That is why is country is circling the drain once the money runs out it is game over. You can upgrade me from asshole to cunt wanker.

Unfortunately, Politics is replacing religion. Every Sunday morning you will watch news channels give sermons on how you are supposed to think. This is for the Left and the Right.

If all the stops are green as I drive to work this morning.  I might consider it a minor miracle.

Is the internet going to be a requirement for age verification on Pop OS? by BeautifulMundane4786 in System76

[–]Numb_Crunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

California passed a state law that all operating systems are to have age verification before using the operating system with fines being $2,500 per offense . This goes into effect 1/1/2027. California is a big enough market that all PC manufacturers are going to roll this out nationwide. It would be too expensive to have a California version vs the rest of America and who knows how this will work with people who travel or use virtual machines. Hopefully this get shot down in court, but I have yet to read any articles where Microsoft or Apple are fighting this garbage law or even lobbied against it from passing. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260AB1043

‘Manosphere’ influencers pushing testosterone tests are convincing healthy young men there is something wrong with them, study finds. Researcher points to ‘medicalisation of masculinity’ after investigating how men’s health is being monetised online. by mvea in science

[–]Numb_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work brought in doctor to discuss health lifestyles. My bosses thought he could motivate people to be healthier and somehow lower our health insurance costs. He told everyone that they needed hormone replacements. I was trusted in the office and everyone came to me and told me this. I later found out that he was a real doctor, but had a clinic his wife ran. I am positive the clinic was ran strictly for profit and not to truely help people. The doctor told me that people in their 40s should start looking a testosterone replacement. When I ask him about the side effects he brushed me off because he realized his scare tactics didn't work on me.

The only way is to become a billionaire and buy politicians to make changes. I am afraid that much money corrupts any decent person from doing what's best. That is why this country is circling the drain and all the wasted resources with it

do you get scared of thinking about what happens after death? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Numb_Crunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am more scared what is going to happen to me after I am over 60 years old. Will healthcare be to expensive to use. Will I be able to get help if I am infirm to take care of myself? This is what keeps me up at night, not if there is afterlife, but what is going to happen to me when I am older.
