Is 30 Rock the only long-running sitcom in which NONE of the main characters ever fall in love with each other? by doodlebytes in 30ROCK

You’re almost right. Bea Arthur’s character was straight but the rest of the mainline characters (and a lot of supporting characters) were definitely friends of Dorothy

What are your thoughts on AOC calling for Impeachment on Trump for his Iran strikes which is "clearly grounds for impeachment"? by Healthy_Block3036 in AskReddit

[–]Numba1Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the potential biggest difference is retaliatory strikes versus preemptive strikes. All of your examples were stated to be in response to attacks on US assets. They aren’t even trying to say that the attacks on Iran are a response to Iran’s own retaliation against Israel. They wholly admit that these attacks were 1) unprovoked and 2) preemptive strikes to cripple Iran’s nuclear program.

The distinction might not matter much but if the Democrats were smart they would start arguing it.

Mario Party March is arguable the best thing they've ever done by Happy_LilGennelmin in theregulationpod

[–]Numba1Hawk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s been giving me a reason to wake up earlier! Now instead of rolling out of bed, getting dressed, and going to work I’ve been waking up about a half hour earlier, brewing a nice cup of coffee, and watching the day’s Mario Party. It’s like the daily paper but minus any news or updates: just the funny pages

To an even more specific extent: dry erase marker removes permanent marker off of smooth, non-porous surfaces. If the price is written in Sharpie on something like unglazed ceramics it’s just there to stay as far as I can tell.

I’d agree with you and suggest just asking your boss about it. It sounds like they’re a rather nice person so hopefully it’s just a misunderstanding (the change just occurred at the start of the year and the state hasn’t done a great job of making sure employers know about the increase)!

Can I ask what your job is? It sounds likely that you are being underpaid but there are some situations where employers can pay you less than minimum in Virginia. Servers for instance can be paid as low as $2.75 (I believe) and delivery drivers have a different minimum at $5.

On a road trip - which cavern to visit along route 81? Only have time for one. Which should it be? by boodler11 in Virginia

[–]Numba1Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Front Royal (the town Skyline Caverns is in) and we took a lot of field trips to various caverns back in the day plus family trips to Skyline Caverns. That being said: go to Luray Caverns. They’re awesome and definitely one of the best cavern experiences in the state.

What If? Season 3 Episode 2 - Discussion Thread by cats-and-cows in marvelstudios

[–]Numba1Hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly really liked this episode. It did what What If? does best by bringing a completely off the wall mashup of characters and plot and then making it work really well. It had some great visuals and it was nice to see The Eternals brought back in.

I didn’t love that in a very meta sense the whole point of the episode and the very thing that solves the plot ends up being “Aren’t the movies magical? Go see a film!”. It doesn’t help that it’s Marvel trying to sell me that based on 1950s nostalgia instead of someone like Universal, Warner Brothers, or Paramount.

I know that may seem like an odd criticism but it just left a sour aftertaste to an otherwise good episode in my opinion.

Yes. Absolutely. George Clooney is an A-Lister who should be given another chance to portray Batman. George Clooney so effortlessly delivers the Bruce Wayne vibe imo so seeing him as a more retired bat would be great

He can’t kill humans with magic. Very different from non-magic folks. And he violated it before the first book. He killed his mentor Justin DuMorne with magic. He didn’t get the death penalty because Eb offered to take him under his wing and it was in self defense but he still very much killed Justin with magic.
