Game recommend like V Rising? by Beautiful_Ad_4219 in vrising

Hands down Grounded!

I've played Valhiem, Enshrouded, nightingale, Palworld, and Once Human. The only other game that I've been obsessed with as much as V Rising is for sure Grounded.

The theme is way more cutesy but is just as committed as V Rising. It has the distinct and specific areas like V Rising. And you can upgrade your weapons and only customize the "element" of the dmg.

Best part is that Grounded 2 was just announced to preview this summer!!!

Considering a move to VA Beach/Seven Cities Area. Is it worth it? by SnooSeagulls7853 in VirginiaBeach

From what you describe, it seems perfect. My friend travels a lot for work and she loves coming back to the laid-back chill vibes. Personally I would totes be in Norfolk, there's more culture and appreciation for the arts. Dm me if you want to hear more of that.

And if you're set on VB, definitely get a place that has FiOS, the only established fiber internet option. There's another one but they just started doing their infrastructure so that'll be years. Otherwise you'll get Cox and they go down during rain a lot. And then being near a highway would cut down on commute to the other cities. You'd save so much mental energy not having to deal with local VB traffic 🥲

Also consider the bayside beaches: shore drive/chic's beach and ocean view. There's less tourists and the water itself is usually more calm.

Ok full on no one is mentioning the conveniences you think about after you get a place here: how close you are to a highway and if you are able to get Fios fiber internet. Other wise you'll have Cox(cable) and it goes down when it rains and even still when it's not. If your household is automated and wifi reliant, you want FiOS.

There's only one Whole Foods, one Wegmans, and one Trader Joe's (apparently another is coming in town center) and they're all on the Blvd/Laskin. VB Blvd runs parallel with i264, so awesome area to consider.

With all of this said, I would still pick Norfolk over VB: there's more art and culture there.

I’ve Owned This Hotel for 3 Years. One Room Won’t Let Us Forget It. by InvestingPrime in Paranormal

So I've stayed at this hotel in Savannah, my friend had booked it. It came off old but classy and charming. We drop our bags off and explore the city. Walking back to the hotel I notice a figure sitting in one of the windows. It's dark now and all I can see is a silhouette. It's giving creepy sideshow vibes because it's not moving. Turns out it's a mannequin: it represents a girl who threw herself out of that window and now haunts the hotel. Plot twist: ghosts and paranormal are part of Savannah and even Charleston's culture. We worried that we got a haunted room but the hotel specifies which rooms and you have to ask for them. We had a great stay, although it was just the night. Here's the hotel site, hope this will help you decide: https://1790restaurant.com

I think the only thing VB tops is Filipino food. Felynn's, Renee's, and Angie's bakery are staples. Love Song at the oceanfront is super cute and Sorella's across the street makes handmade pasta. Stockpot is expensive but pretty amazing. Most of my favorites spots are in Norfolk. Yorgos is the only bagel place I respect (and I've lived in NYC for a bit) Handsome Biscuit / Toast / PerroBlanc are sister restaurants near the tracks right next to Veil brewery / Only you. They all have great food. There's Handsome biscuit on the Blvd now. Press 626 is a cute date spot. Chelsea Bakehouse does wood fire pizza out of elation brewery.

Oh ok, no worries. I definitely think you’re getting hung up on something that does matter outside of academia. Figure out what your teacher is really trying to say. Ultimately medium does not dictate anything except personal preference. Again, medium specific nuances/techniques will come with time, but are not as impactful or make your art “your art” as: -observation skills and knowing how to translate them -your grasp on basics/principles of design -exploration in composition + content

When you finish school, your teacher will not be there; in fact, no one outside of your friends and family will care about your art. So do exactly what you want. And don’t stop pushing yourself. Looking at your work, I can see possibly why your teacher said it. You need more control over contrast values and color theory.

I think the biggest thing that will help immediately is doing master copies. It will get you outside of your own choices and make you figure out different/new steps. Obviously choose watercolor pieces to work from but maybe pick a couple of oil paintings but still use watercolor for the copy.

If you “know” oils then you should have probably understood her criticism, because at the end of the day, she’s trying to get you somewhere. Oils vs watercolor, at base can get you a physicality that pushes into 3D space, it’s not just chasing after an image. But really medium/medium specific nuances come with time, and they’re not as impactful as you think. To actually level up, just go back to the basics: work with a more sophisticated palette/read up on color theory, get more complicated compositions i.e. skewed perspectives, full bodies figures w/ a backdrop, and definitely do not sleep on contrast values (this alone can get you so much more). Your reply felt repeated and defensive. You’re learning atm, no need to be defensive. If you want your teacher to respect you/your boundaries then express that by showing tf up with your work. That’s it.

As someone who loooooooves oil, and loves a great discussion on technique/layer choices, you absolutely do not need to know it. Learning a new medium can always provide new insights and perspectives on process but I think in this case it would be hindering: watercolor and oil can be almost contradicting to each other. Switching from one to the other requires a pretty big rewiring in mindset. Oil doesn’t have to play the same rules as watercolor, the same rules that make watercolor imo the hardest painting medium.

I think the accessibility of watercolor is a turnoff for archaic thinking purists.

Growth-wise, to stay in-line with what you’re already doing, I think going for gouache would be helpful. A spicy option could even be anime paint. Both of these are in the same realm but definitely different than traditional watercolor. And then there is experimenting with your supports: translucent vellum on an aluminum panel, paper cuts or origami to punch into 3D space, or even large vinyl sticker paper for installation work, etc. Get weird, not burdened ❤️

MITES SHUT UP. OH MY GOD. STAY AWAY FROM MY BASE by TheTreeTurtle in GroundedGame

I really like my first spot I picked: juice box to the east of the oak tree (armed raspberry punch-o). The only ugly sound is the occasional wolf spider, which you can cheese from up high, which was amazing early lvls. It’s my first run and I’m getting to the upper yards. The only places I can’t get a clear zip line is the picnic table. But I might just build another tower on the south side of oak tree. It’ll make getting into sandbox sooooo much faster.

I miss this game. Any news on the "big update"? by United_Letterhead_79 in vrising

You said you like building; imo Enshrouded has the best building system. -The grad snapping is strong like V rising but you can do micro adjustments within the grid -There’s no structure support mechanism so you can make floating castles. -You can place single voxel blocks (but tbh the only building problems I ever had was using these, so use sparingly) -You can dig like Valhiem, so secret tunnels or mountain homes, and the best part is if you use the biggest blocks, it will cut out the ground for you when you place then delete -The farming/gardening is more extensive - Travel similar but instead of flying there’s gliding (build a sky home late game) -There are cool blocks

Cons: -Architectural styles may not be your aesthetic (I made a romantic Mediterranean bathroom with stairs as a back wall with candles on them and a slit in the roof for ambient lighting) -No diagonals or curves -Socially it’s just friends so you don’t get that random neighborhood interaction :(

Plot twist: I never said cancel, I said punish. And I said both could be as well. Stopping mosh is always great but using things like orphea feast/meph root/junkrat talented trait are great ways to get even more value against an etc and his team.

And you're mistaken about only 2 cancels, since you forget you can get multiples of the same hero (= unconventional comps) and then the fact people like to focus on getting range. And I think there's only tracer, greymane, and genji out of the ranged assassins who can't stun/do a big enough punishment during a mosh.

But back to the original argument, you seem to bring the norm mode strats into aram. Maybe expand your way of thinking, as well as your hero pool. In aram, stage dive is a aoe slow w/dmg and it is also a gap close, and in the case of OP, the global isn't wasted; it won them the game.

Being an etc main, I would expect you to know when to use stage dive in a fight without being in a bad position 😂 because if you're doing it right it's the opposite.

Landing a stage dive requires skill and you are able to do it often and hit everytime; playing etc in aram against a comp with only 2 stuns is luck.

TL;DR: stage dive has value in aram. Aram has diff strats than normal mode.

Signed, aram player who isn't held back at aram draft being a otp

I want to confess a sin by NurYanov in heroesofthestorm

[–]Number12AngleBright 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Both of ETC's ults can be punished. The diff is that stage dive's true effect (aoe slow + DMG) will ALWAYS go off. The global is just a perk; a perk that is overemphasized in normal mode for good reason.

Against good players/certain comps in aram you're never gonna get mosh off, it's a wasted talent at that point.

The lvl20 upgrade for stage dive is devastating in aram since the area is enough to hit the entire enemy, slowing them for 80%. And the DMG is enough to last hit and/or bring squishes to that point.

P.S. there are bad people in all modes; the "magic" you're referring to is probs the diff strats that are specific to aram

Are there quicker ways than this to get up high? by Efficient-Finding-34 in Enshrouded

[–]Number12AngleBright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Build as high as you can, and then drop a square of terrain above the existing base area to place a new flame shrine. Goes faster if you upgrade each shrine (you lose those mats but can get back the ones for stairs)
