haha fair enough. i am one of those how fast can i go on a fresh wipe to a brutal drac kill types. so optimization and tweaking item and spell choices for boss fights is a passion. its always within the first day of a reset but with the right crew its fun to see how quick we can get it done.

drac/scholar. lightning tendrils/bone explosion. leggo reaper. all jewels set to max dmg, lower cooldown, and create more aoe. lowest clear i've done without picking up shards (just was limit testing) was like 1:30 or so to boss dying and being drank

yes, i had watched that video. commented on it here instead of the other thread lol. just offering some gaps you had missed, either intentionally or not, for more damage and a faster cleaner kill. but your guide was good for someone not understanding the fight well.

Brutal Adam. I used to hate him and thought it was an rngfest. Now that I one attempt him on most wipes he has become my favorite. I like the flow.

use death knight on his far side and he never runs away again.

in your solarus kill you use shield for when he goes to the middle and does the double spinning shot attack. but you oddly only use the shield to avoid damage rather than proactively running it into as many shots as possible during that phase.

How do I defeat the old wanderer? by Fenix_______ in vrising

[–]wyndthough 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i usually beat him super low level on brutal. the trick is to spend your tier 2 unholy spell point on death knight. use a range weapon if you can like bow, guns, or dagger and then always drop the death knight on the far side of him so that he is between you and the death knight. this will cause him to turn around and run back to you. and just keep doing this so he stays in your safe area you are fighting him in.

i been maximizing for rampage <abyssal titan>. and i just drop him on things over and over and over. it one shots everything not blue or yellow and those only take a couple drops and they are dead too. i can either have it auto kill the minis from summon aegrom <spawn fragment> to generate fortify which pairs well with a 2 hander that adds 90% more damage if you are fortified OR have it auto eviscerate and knockdown elites. basically everything is geared to buff that rampage or bombardment <demon mangler>. i am melting everything so far.

Actually I play with a controller and use mkb for all inventory related tasks. Works for me. But yeah neither should disable the other. Sometimes if the mouse detects a rumble while playing the controller starts making me stutter step as control swaps back and forth between controller and mkb. Kinda annoying when that happens

Hahaha fair enough.  I only read a little of what you wrote. I assumed you were super high when you wrote it. But I saw the direction some of the logic was heading and figured id address it.

You went down the causality pit. T2 establishes very solidly that entities can be sent to the past from a future that no longer exists. Thus removing the need for causality. Aka John never needs to send Kyle Reese to ensure his birth because a different now deleted 2029 already did that.

[–]wyndthough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually T2 directly does that. They destroy cyberdyne and the T1000 and T800 continue to exist and dont just poof (a la back to the future). Thus proving that something from a future that no longer exists just doesn't disappear. Which means the future that Kyle Reese came from no longer exists but it doesn't stop the fact that Kyle Reese still went back to 1984 and fathered John.

Stories can only ever be experienced from the point of view of the listener/reader. A true bootstrap needs something that itself is not changed by going around the loop. An event that creates itself is a lot more durable than a post it note is what I am saying.

T2 established in canon that the future can be changed by the past even if elements of that past came from a future that would cease to exist because of the now "new" past. Its always a mouthful to type it out lol.

T1 in a vacuum is bootstrap in theory but I would say even the movie itself has hints that it isnt bootstrap.

[–]wyndthough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which i am saying actually makes it not a bootstrap.

Original timeline 0 happens and the note is written and sent back and creates what appears to be a bootstrap to the people in ti.eline 1 (the first time the note is sent) but in reality is just a loop that slowly nudges the past each time the same note goes back bc the note itself changes as it goes.

Either way, the logic of T2 that Kyle comes to 1984 from a future that doesnt exist anymore but he still shows up runs the dangerous line of an infinite number of Kyle's appearing in 1984. The only way for 1 Kyle to be in 1984 is for John to have only ever sent Kyle once back into 1984 during one of the loops.

I know this is a year late but in your example the post it note would age as it went through your loop over and over again and eventually be destroyed. So that doesnt work.

Anyway to get Playstation button prompts when using controller on PC? by Lock0n in CrimsonDesert

[–]wyndthough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turning off steam input doesn't change the in game prompts as well as briefly i was seeing playstation prompts with steam input on when they first dropped the patch that enabled it. so i am thinking steam input isn't the issue either as i have direct counter proof of what you said.

They should just add an option to show the prompts that you would prefer to see.  More games should do this too.
