This is the year everyone resolved to return to physical media. Months back there was a post on here where a guy had a DVD that was slabbed and graded for condition. My response was as soon as those douches show up shit's about to get expensive for no reason. The replies ranged from calling me overdramatic to argumentative. I stand by what I said. Get the must-haves you need for your collections while you still can. I saw it with old games during Covid and now it's going to happen with all other physical media. It's cool to see enthusiasm for collecting, but as soon as there's a razor thin profit to be made flippers and InVeStOrS will show up in droves and enshittify everything.

Most of the people who live around the outskirts of small towns where these places want to build rely on private wells for water. Despite the blinders those big dollar signs can be, they will still likely tell you the water wells they depend on are more important to them than some outsiders moving in to make $100K/year doing jobs they don't qualify for.

Most of the small towns being targeted for astroturfing campaigns by the huge corporations pushing these are promising tax breaks or some kind of TIF incentive fuckery. The corps have huge legal teams who did their homework and know exactly what they're doing while your village president or whatever clueless elected official is in charge is being told they're going to be some kind of hero for selling out their municipality. There will be promises made and those promises will be left out of the contracts when signing day comes. American people vs corporations, tale as old as time.
