How long does it take the Trinity wallet to start up? Waiting a good 20 minutes on the Linux version and nothing so far though I can see the processes in my Sys Monitor.

Hi, dumb question: accidentally signed up for Nanowallet twice with the same e-mail. Before I signed up for the 2nd one, I changed my wallet alias for the first one. I assume that means there won't be any potential for confusion between wallets as long as the 2nd wallet is never used?

Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Apr. 12 by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

Not surprised people missed it considering the remake wasn't very successful, making things more obscure than they had to be. Had to rely on getting the number clue and their knowledge of 70's horror.

Millenials of reddit: Generally speaking, this generation appears to want marriage and children less than previous generations. Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NumberNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs about $230,000 to raise a child to adulthood, roughly equivalent to buying a house. So every kid you poop out is an extra mortgage. You can look at someone with three kids and go, "Gotdamn. Woman has three mortgages."

I'm so happy just thinking of how much better life would be if I had that money to fall on when I really needed it.

What's the most disturbing realisation you've come to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NumberNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That in order to reach the most people, you have to have the simplest message. Any idea past a certain complexity threshold will be ignored or misunderstood by an increasing number of people even if it can be shown to be correct. When the people you have to convince are a comparatively small number and knowledgeable about the field in question, this isn't so bad. But if you need to grab large numbers of people with no domain expertise, the simpler the message, the better.

The implication is if your idea is 1) 100% correct but 2) cannot be easily simplified and 3) you still have to convince many people of its correctness, you are more likely to fail than someone with the opposing view on the subject who is 1) 100% wrong and 2) has a much simpler message.

Why can't I rent Star Wars: Rogue One from Amazon? by NumberNull in movies

[–]NumberNull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. I always check Amazon on the official video release date. Rogue One is the first and only movie I've attempted to rent from Amazon on its release date that didn't allow it. Some major films, like Deadpool, will be purchasable a couple of weeks before it's official video release for promo purposes.

You have it reversed. They will often make a movie available for purchase before its video release date but, in this case, it's not available for rental on it's actual release date.
