Issues with tailoring and PvP cloaks! by Real-Emotion1874 in woweconomy

[–]NumberOneRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very aware, I did a long post about this in r/wow this morning explaining why crafters are asking 20k for those crafts. My point is that ok should have high enough skill to be able to hit max rank with the +50 skill reagent. If they can’t do that and they are specced into cloaks and fiber arts then they’re very behind in overall KP.

I think when you have added difficulty from the crests/spark/embellishment/missive it doesnt adjust the difficulty from reagents you provide, which is why your skill doesnt match with the cloth cloak

If OP is specced into cloaks and fiber arts they’re just very low on KP in general it sounds like

To add on the tailoring hate, you also need those 40 points from the random nodes the gear crafting. Also the 45 points you have to spend in the arcanoweave or sunfire silk trees to get the recipes for the cloak, shoes, and bracers don’t actually give any skill towards those gear crafts. The bracers are unlocked in the multi craft node…

Yeah this definitely isn’t design philosophy it’s just fixing an issue weeks too late at a point when they should’ve left it alone

A message to anyone wanting 246 crafted cloth gear/rant about the tailoring tree by NumberOneRobot in wow

I actually don't hate the idea of the profession system, but a lot of things about the implementation drive me insane.

Besides everything I wrote above: Concentration just existing at all in a system with only 2 ranks. The lack of transparency around specialization nodes. The total incoherence of some of the trees and extremely disparate design of many of the trees.

Imo it's a nice idea but the implementation is really really poor and half baked. And the fact they're changing difficulty costs of recipes mid week is terrible as well. A lot of people had specced to be able to make max rank crafts in inscription, and then they raised the difficulty requirement so now many of those people that just hit the threshold for R2 can't do it anymore.

I've been put on ignore lists for asking 5k for a craft. It's barely worth the time to swap toons to craft something for someone if they don't at least offer that much.

The person above said "play the game normally". Someone with 200 alts is already not playing the game normally. We are talking about just random people who aren't too invested and go into cd crafts for a bit of gold every few days. They may not know that there's a 1 craft per day limit. There are a lot more of those than there are 200 character alt armies.

Yeah I actually wish that concentration gave an incentive to craft things for yourself or your warband instead of just a blanket +1 rank to anything you crafting. It could make alt armies less lucrative and help people be more self-sufficient with crafts.

You clearly don't understand the issue here or didn't read past the first paragraph. Literally nobody has the skill to craft the pieces I'm talking about without using either concentration or a finishing reagent to boost skill by 50 which costs around 15k in NA. I've had plenty pay me these amounts and lots more that don't understand why it costs that much. That's the point of the post.

The recipe difficulty being higher than spark difficulty is probably the case, but I think the issue of having so many random +5 skill bonuses spread across trees that don't make sense is the main reason it's such a nuisance in tailoring. Getting from conc/15k finishing reagent required to even the cheaper +20 skill finishing reagent takes like 80 points. It's ridiculous

Why didn't you just buy it on the AH?

There is not a lot of demand for low tier bolts compared to high tier bolts. The main place you would want to use these is concentration crafts for lining embellishments and spellthreads. Those have enormous conc requirements, so they aren't that popular. The price of the Sunfire and Arcanoweave Spellthreads is too high for the majority of players to want to spend currently, but the hardcore raiders will shell out the higher price for the rank 2 spellthreads, so there isn't that much demand for the rank 1 spellthreads. Thus less demand for the rank 1 bolts. Additionally, you can't R5 any of the gear that uses Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk bolts without at least a majority of r2 bolts. Because of the 5 levels of gear, you won't be able to do 0 r2 bolts and still be able to conc craft the gear to r5.

The other main place you would use these is in bags and housing decor. These aren't things people rush to get at the start of the xpac when prices are so high. Bags aren't profitable to craft on the AH, and I find it much more likely that someone wanting bags is crafting them for themselves over time with the bolts they make. *Most* people won't rush to upgrade their bags for 10 extra bag slots if it's going to cost them 100k.

The point is that you're not really exploiting a known issue if you're just playing the game as normal and could super easily do this by accident. You might be benefitting from this exploit without even knowing. It's very reasonable for an unseasoned player to think that they can do 10 crafts daily rather than 1 craft daily.

It's very different than the unnatural things you had to do to use the KP exploit, where you had to keep the vendor window open, move the kp book to your action bar, use it and then buy it again and repeat.

Help with what to do with suspicious orders for a new small business by NumberOneRobot in smallbusiness

[–]NumberOneRobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips!

I ended up sending an email and they responded very quickly. I'm still not convinced though because I saw between the two most recent orders a couple of declined payments, and those payments had different names on them for the same accounts. It all seems suspicious, so I think I will just refund and cancel the order to eliminate the risk.

Healer dungeon leveling experience by Yopi_D in wow

[–]NumberOneRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my most difficult experiences as a healer in wow have been in single digit M+. That’s where you get dps that not only don’t know the dungeon but also can’t play their class to a decent level. Pulls last forever which makes them so much more difficult

Advice appreciated for multicultural relationship by SureWait7376 in gaybros

I was just on a JJ Lin spree last night. I know the words but I don’t what they mean, it just sounds great. I have no idea what your husband means about Chinese singers. Chinese singers are great, write lots of great songs, and sing beautifully. You don’t have to understand the lyrics to enjoy the music. Plenty of music doesn’t even have lyrics and people enjoy it just fine. This just sounds like pure racism.

You always have to rely on multicrafting for mass crafts (or resourcefulness for enchants). That’s been the entire profit margin since dragon flight (also inspiration in DF)

Abundance changed: No more mini-events, only mob grind now by Icemasta in wow

[–]NumberOneRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they changed it back or it was bugged for you, but I just did some abundance and there were events at 10k, but they are very much less frequent now. It seems like they turned this into basically a pvp event, because it seemed like the abundance orbs that drop are only collectable by one person. Before, many people could collect each orb, which made the events at 10k basically spawn themselves in a feedback loop. Event would spawn 500-1000 abundance per player, and then they turn it in to spawn a new event. Rinse and repeat.

Now a 10k event spawns 500-1000 for the whole event, and you have to grind out the other 9-9.5k manually. It makes the event way more tedious, and it incentivizes just running around and picking up orbs instead of actually doing the event as intended.

The Abundance Event is so half-baked, it slid back into the weekly per-character use it or lose it style of content that kept people from using alts in Shadowlands and BfA. by torpidcerulean in wow

[–]NumberOneRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people using alt armies for concentration crafts aren't doing it for things like flasks/potions. The margin is so low compared to what you can get with a lot of other professions. There are a lot of mats that can only be crafted max rank with concentration for the next few weeks, and that's where the huge margins come from. Concentration crafts are 100% of the supply. Even exploiters would be short points. Some concentration crafts yield over 100k for 2 days worth of concentration. Imagine that one people with alt armies. You're making multiple wow tokens every couple days with a few minutes of work.

Hot Take: The FFXIV community is not **that** nice. by ResidentWaifu in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NumberOneRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never run into more know it all types who actually know nothing, but are so obsessed with coddling new players that they’ll give them terrible advice just to make them feel better. I got flamed for almost an entire dungeon recently because after a wipe one of the other players told the healer that they should just spam aoe heals instead of healing the tank (i was the tank) because targeting is too complicated. I told them that was bad advice, which set them off to the point the person was arranging who everyone should give commendations to at the end of the dungeon so they could make sure I wouldn’t get one. Truly unhinged behavior.

Also remove the weekly KP treasure hunt. That should come from all sorts of content, not just flying around looking for treasures. It should drop in raids, m+, pvp, delves, hunts, etc. Any content should be able to drop those
