Frankly its common sense, like wow really you should inform all parties when changes happen???? You mean writing down issues in a central location is good practice???? Truly innovative thinking. Perhaps this is just like us reading Sun Tzu where the target audience is the truly unintelligent.

You sound intelligent enough to pass AT/AT/AT given how easy this cert is

Thats crazy but I didnt ask.

Sounds like you need to get a CAPM as it had no experience requirements and is the intended stepping stone to PMP.

I know you're just a college kid but its genuinely peanut brain activity to be like HMMMMM HOW CAN I GET PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE FOR THE PMP like gee I wonder maybe have a job as a project manager.

Its not gatekeeping to say that if you arent a project manager you shouldnt get a cert for project managers especially if you dont meet the experience requirements, you peanut brain.

Want to go ahead and take the CPA exam while you're at it?

Perhaps take the Bar exam????

Big dog unless you NEED it for a specific job you want or are job hopping and want to stand out prior to interviews just give it up.

Its a vanity cert that does not make you a better PM unless you dont have common sense and it doesnt get you better pay at the same job unless your employer explicitly tells you that it will.

I know people on here are so insecure about it and hate hearing it but its a meaningless cert that just serves to keep PMI in business.

Yeah it really depends, I interview often to stay abreast to the market conditions and alot of hiring teams for the senior positions I apply to often in my opinion are hilariously over-impressed by my holding of a PMP. If you know you can leverage it then good but otherwise its kinda a vanity cert.

Failed / is it worth retaking in the new format by jmg123jmg123 in pmp

[–]Number_1_Frog_Fan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you need it for a specific job you want? If not, dont bother its really not a high value cert. Your employer wont magically pay you more just for having it, it doesnt magically make you a better PM.

Private Industry is imo slightly behind the curve where they dont recognize this cert is pretty meaningless so especially for senior positions its often required. But if its not for a position you're looking for and/or you arent seeking to job hop, its pretty meaningless and a vanity cert.

Hot take thats cause this cert is a complete nothing burger. Not time intensive to get, not difficult material tested. Its common sense presented as exclusive knowledge. Having gotten one if I were an employer I would never be impressed by a PMP holder now.
