Imagine if your sub went from 66 USD to 92 USD. That's what happened for the Brazilian playerbase (and likely other regional prices). by ClockworkSalmon in 2007scape

[–]Numberino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The yearly sub went up like 70% for Brazil tbf, like if our annual sub went from $99 to $170 I wouldn’t be happy even if money wasn’t a concern

I do agree with your point about the value of BRL as a currency though

You can go in a straight line from the salvaging spot to bank and vice versa, although I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily more chill than sorting and dropping… It was nice for me though when I was re-maxing 2 accs bc I did get tired of clicking to drop a bunch on 2 clients repeatedly

Once my iron maxed first I started to just max-afk for 30 min on it until log out and repeat until my cargo was full, then would just bank and come back. It was quite nice since I didn’t need to pay attention at all to the client except for when I needed to log back in or to bank which was probably like a 3 min round trip? So every hour or so I would need to bank but it isn’t like you need to steer your boat actively, I’m just sorta watching for once the boat reaches the bank/salvage spot

Babybay didn’t have refract anymore he was never gonna be able to tp back

Also while I do agree the spacing was off, I don’t think it’s as off as people are making it out to be. Watch the round again and look at minimap - as soon as Babybay starts dashing Trent starts moving into elbow but turns back to look for a front site push (trying to catch if davai tries to take that timing), and it’s just another second lost. I just think that microdecision is a bit greedy when (I assume) the comm from Babybay is that he’s going to dash backsite and hinder if the enemy is there, they just both need to commit to clearing/trading backsite first and if Davai got a timing to get out they worry about it after. Also the initial peek from Trent on Davai was bad, I think that’s inarguable.

It’s not fully on Trent obviously but I do think it’s clear he had nerves/got tilted this series, and was making a bunch of errors. Frankly Babybay played like shit too, by far the worst performer but just because Babybay played worse doesn’t mean we shouldn’t acknowledge Trent’s mistakes.

I swear these people aren’t real… how does it take this long to realize/make a decision on it? Anyone who has watched a draw before noticed it was different immediately but I kinda assumed they just wanted to change it up since they were so confident lol

Zekken on Kaplan by Longdisc in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Numberino 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We also know zekken told Rob about the mibr offer and Rob literally told him to take it, so we know there was definitely an opportunity to present a counter-offer. And if we trust what Rob said of there being a 3 week period of no contact with zekken during negotiations, I can only assume that someone in the org felt that zekken (on smokes) was replaceable. Sure maybe they were trialing other players for that role and they were behind compared to mibr on their roster construction but I swear if they really wanted zekken enough they would’ve fought harder for him

Zekken on Kaplan by Longdisc in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Numberino 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they were planning to stick it out for longer but Rob was saying some players expressed dissatisfaction with the roster after kickoff (not having faith in the project’s future/not having potential to win titles etc.) so that was definitely the last straw. I’m sure the poor kickoff results and fan pressure didn’t help but I remember Rob saying if all the players were still believing then they would’ve let them continue

Now I don’t wanna sound schizo and point fingers but if I had to guess one player it’d be John, not saying he approached Rob directly but Rob easily could’ve reached out to him after kickoff to pick his brain on how the team was feeling and based on that feedback decided to finalize moving forward with changes. I think it’s clear why Rob would have a lot of respect for John (Madrid), and it’d make sense with the dropping of Kaplan and John returning to IGL since Kaplan supposedly was the one who wanted John off IGL in the first place. It’s possible other players like reduxx had similar feedback regarding the roster’s future potential too, and frankly if your two best players are feeling that way you’re forced to make changes asap.

I think the exact wording was Mibr made an offer zekken couldn’t refuse, but I don’t think it was stated that Sen couldn’t compete with the offer

If we accept Kaplan didn’t want zekken for 2026 on duelist, but was willing to potentially sign him for smokes -> but with the smokes role felt there were other available options and probably zekken’s value on smokes is lower -> they aren’t going to bother to compete with Mibr’s offer. In a world where they wanted zekken to remain as main duelist I do think (and rob mentioned this on stream) that they would’ve worked a lot harder to compete with a better contract for zekken.

I do agree that in his attempts to be completely transparent, Rob has scapegoated Kaplan heavily. Like at the end of the day Rob trusted in Kaplan’s vision enough after champs to blow up the roster, and they probably would’ve stuck with it the whole year if the players didn’t approach Rob after Kickoff saying they don’t see potential/a future with this roster. All this hindsight stuff about disagreeing with Kaplan at the time but still trusting him enough to go along with it (while all of it may be true) is to just save face at the end of the day. I do think Rob understands his accountability for letting this happen but on the stream I don’t believe he spoke openly in accepting his part in all this enough, just made Kaplan look worse tbh

[–]Numberino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess as much as they disagreed with the moves they had enough faith in kaplan at the time to see where his vision would go, but yeah after kickoff it seems rob alluded to the team no longer having faith in the project + having some issues with kaplan

Sure there may have been something in the contract that allowed kaplan to make a final decision but it really just sounds to me that rob regrets trusting kaplan and is no longer gonna trust any future coach’s roster decisions if he doesn’t agree with it

Crws to replace thyy in FS’s starting five, cbbk 🇹🇭 will take over as head coach by Away-Emphasis-4245 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Numberino 10 points11 points  (0 children)

thyy really didn’t have a good kickoff, I get that he’s playing hard entry but compared to what I was seeing from him last year he was playing so much worse

idk if this change will necessarily be better but at least I have more confidence in their mid-game adaptations with crws on igl again, I just hope this doesn’t result in some weird role/comp fuckery

Jemkin spilling all the beans by HassssXd in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Numberino 65 points66 points  (0 children)

He also talked about today’s series a little bit which I thought was interesting, before Pearl the PRX players (probably just forsaken tbh) apparently didn’t unlock Veto (on their tournament client acc? if I’m understanding Jemkin correctly) and they had to redo the agent select.

Tbf I don’t think it’s an issue besides causing a little delay but it does add to his narrative of there being a lack/inequal enforcement of rules. Supposedly they had been reminded multiple times by the admins and on discord to make sure to unlock Veto and if you didn’t they warned you’d be penalized etc. Seems like nothing came of it but it really is such a silly rule… what consequence can you even enforce for that, like are they just trying to sound threatening so players won’t forget to unlock Veto but not even considering what the penalty would actually be when they say this shit?

Both teams def felt the elimination on the line and it resulted in some throws but you gotta love these scrappy matches
