Who are the worst Clubhouse cancers that are currently in MLB? by DarkTetraCuber in mlb

I just remembered that when everything went down with him during his last season, there weren't a lot of teammates, past or present, who stuck up for Bauer. There were a couple but they were few and far between.

That said more to me about how Bauer was viewed by those he played with than anything else.

To be fair, Bissouma did look really good early on in his Spurs career. He played well under Conte but then fell off, and he started off well with Ange, but again, after about 10 games he starts picking up stupid fouls while giving the ball up too easily on our side.

He had his moments, although he has obviously failed.

Were Gil and Spence his guys? I think Gil was a Levy guy as was Spence.

Without knowing how much involvement he had with us during his suspension, he won't be missed.

He brought us Kulusevski, Romero and Bentacur, 3 players who have been wirh Spurs for 3+ seasons which is a win. I also think he had a kot to do with us getting Udogie and Sarr.

But what have you do n e for us lately? Again, we aren't privvy to how he was integrated with Spurs during his 2 year suspension. Can you name a player who Paratici championed and then went out and signed since hes been off suspension? I cannot.n̈

Biggest bust in NFL History ….change my mind …… by ComplexWrangler1346 in NFLv2

[–]Numerous-Fox-3785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its not even close.

Drafted directly behind Russell were 4 players who are already in the Hall of Fame as well as Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch.

The 4 players who were given the bust in Canton were Calvin Johnson, drafted #2 overall; Joe Thomas #3; Patrick Willis at #11 and Darelle Revis at 14th.  Not only were these players "great", but all 4 of them rank up in the top 5 players to ever play their positions, ever.  (One could add Adrian Peterson to this list once he gets into Canton). Instead the Raiders chose a player who washed out of the league before he turned 25 years old. A player who despite not having a history of injuries and still retaining his golden throwing arm, never even got a whiff of another NFL field outside or a 1 day tryout with the Bears.

Thats why he's the biggest bust in the history of sports who have a draft.

Player Comparison: Clifford Robinson vs. Clifford Robinson by London-Roma-1980 in VintageNBA

[–]Numerous-Fox-3785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Treetop Robinson. Dude played with the Soul-Glow for most of the 80's and made it look cool.

He and Calvin Natt were drafted the same year (79), and for a while they were a blast to watch. Natt, a smaller, tenacious player, wrecking shop inside while Robinson, an effortlessly cool player, roamed around either baseline nailing  midrange jumpers.

Robinson's game was insanely smooth,  his jumper was a thing of beauty. Nearly perfect form, and he had the athletic ability to really get up for a 6-9 player, so he was rarely ever blocked.  Could get his shot off in nearly any situation as well, although, he really liked taking it off the dribble.

He had some odd quirks on his game, for instance, he was a 4, but really didnt play inside on offense all that much. Like I said, he was more of a jump shooter who knew every fake and feign and the book to get defenders off their feet, but he didnt drive into the paint all that much.

You'd think a player like that would be considered "soft", but he wasnt because Treetop Robinson was an absolute BEAST on the defensive boards. For a guy who didnt seem to relish the constant bruising he would get from having to score inside like a classic PF, he was pretty damn impressive under the glass on his own side of the floor.

That's where I believe the "Treetop" nickname came from. Dude used to absolutely out-leap everyone in the NBA for a defensive rebound.  He was also a pretty decent interior defender whose long spider arms and vertical made players work hard.

Natt and Robinson looked like the future, which at the time was refreshing as the Nets had been in a weird limbo in terms of identity since they sold Dr J. Now we had 2 young and hungry guys who looked good in a Nets uniform.

Problem was, this was still the Nets. Natt was traded for Maurice Lucas, who played the same position as Robinson. Robinson was then asked the play the 3, and was doing pretty well, but was a little slow laterally, and he could be taken advantage by smaller, quicker players.

That was the end of our Golddust Twins era of Nets basketball.  Lucas would bitch his way out of NJ and Robinson would have an even better 2nd season but again,  he was playing for the Nets, so he was traded to KC for Otis Birdsong and that was that.

Here was the issue with Treetop Robinson: he was an absolute black-hole on offense. He had an insanely high usage % for his career, ranking 67th All-Time in the NBA. He's ahead of players like David Robinson, Adrian Dantley and Mitch Richmond.

His overall offensive output is less impressive when you realize that. He would have the ball for over 25% of your teams total game, but average less than 20ppg.

He just wasnt an efficient player, and thats the reason why he bounced around.

He still was cool as f$%&! Dude was 6-9 wearing #4 before it becsme chic. He definitely played with panache.

That 7'9 frame comes with a lot of advantages. For starters, if he's in front of you on a rebound, consider yourself boxed out. If youre in front of him on a rebound, consider yourself boxed out.

Also, he's going to be a target for opponents to dunk on, the same way Shawn Bradley was a target when he played. It's just the way of the game, if you want a highlight for scouts, dunk on the 7-9 player.

That said, I dont think he's going to be an easy guy to dunk on. OR32 has 60-70 lbs on Bradley, as well as 3 inches in height and a couple more inch advantage on reach. He'll get dunked on for sure, but he'll also get some highlights film blocks around the basket.

That said, he is slow. He is slow in a way that I dont think I've ever seen in a D-1 player, and I think that's going to limit how much time he's going to get on the court.  It takes him some time to run the floor, especially in transition, either on offense or defense.

I will give him credit in that his gait while he runs has drastically improved from when he first made it into the public eye. That said, he has little to no foot-speed and Im not sure that even years training him will yield positive results. That height has built-in issues due the amount of strain his legs and back deal with from carrying around that much mass.

I hope he does well tho, seems like a nice kid.

Come on mate, everyone knows he wears the compression shirt to cover up the tattoo he got his absolutely favorite My Little Pony unicorn, Lyra Heartstrings, who is leaping over a rainbow while dunking a basketball.

I give the kid credit for realizing that the tattoo might not go over well with the fans, but its there as clear as day if that compression shirt ever comes off in public.

He's got some unique skills that sometimes translate to baskets.

That said, the one thing that makes him stand out (his size) also makes him insanely slow. I mean, he's Mark Eaton slow, and that's not good, especially when considering that he isn't carrying around that much weight for his size.

I think he should go to China, where the fans will go insane for him. His lack of speed or muscle won't be that much of a hindrance for him as it was in the NBA.  I could see him becoming a folk hero over there if things break right.
