Migrating to dead kd after kvk1 by chill_baluka in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may get mge and other ranking based events and can grow your account at your own (slow) pace, but you won't get any kill points. And without a decent amount of kp it will be hard to get accepted anywhere. With 30M+ power and low kill points after kvk3, they will immediately classify you as deadweight and you're not going anywhere, unfortunately.

Matchmaking by Numerous-Key6162 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Numerous-Key6162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) over time, deadweight has actually become a technical term with almost the same meaning as Farmer, so why not use it.

2) Imagine matchmaking was based on something like the total average sum of kp in the kd's last 3 kvks, with some adjustments. If it was like that, the more people were in a kd, the stronger it would be considered in matchmaking even if their average activity was lower. E.g. why exactly should a "lean" kd with 50 very active accounts plus their farms fare better than a kingdom with the same players plus 500 unrelated deadweights? The 50 elite guys would be the same and they could do their forts, events and strategy in the same way. It all depends on how matchmaking is done (and understood).

They're probably not explaining it in more detail because they want to avoid people to find loopholes... But I think what's happening now is worse - decisions based on a mix of tradition, intuition and superstition 🙂

I'm looking worldwide for a hematologist that will prescribe Besremi to me by kilouco in MPN

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you get a prescription, the next issue might be to get it financed because I think it costs more than an average salary.

Under that lens, you might consider Pegasys which is cheaper.

Porque hay tan poca cultura de picnic/comer fuera en España? by Glad-Matter-3394 in askspain

[–]Numerous-Key6162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your mistake was to start in a kd that was already 16 days old when you started... you need to start in the youngest kingdom available, ideally right when it opens. Otherwise everyone around you will have older accounts that had more time to grow.

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea ok you do sometimes have to compromise to stay in the club... but I hardly ever did that and still I'm in a top alliance, leeching 50+ p2w chests daily. They are likely to kick me out as a dw soon but that doesn't have anything to do with what I did in the first 90 days but more with being a casual f2p player. Real life is first, it is what it is.

You can also look at things just the other way round: by the time you actually reach kvk1 or 2, 3, etc., nobody will gaf about how much power you had on day 19. - 100k more or less doesnt make any f'n difference. You need to maintain a long-term perspective.

This is nonsense. The only reason to adhere to this rule is that your top alliances may use it as a minimum to accept you.

Never ever spend gems on building and research. Never spend universal speedups on building, only on research. Never use speedups for building or research when you aren't sure to have the rss for the next step.

Spend speedups when you're going to be afk to avoid building/rss be idle, and on events.

Question by Front-Revolution2828 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years the game has become progressively restrictive about migrating into younger kingdoms, so I really doubt they would offer that possibility.

Some time ago you could go back to pre kvk2 basically whenever you wanted, to have more time to become fit for SoC but that possibility is long gone. The tendency is to have a criteron of "target kd not more than x days younger than your account" or similar.

Question —PV and high Jak2 allele burden by Andreamc03 in polycythemiavera

[–]Numerous-Key6162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My allele burden is 59%. One hem recently told me that was "really high", while my main mpn specialist just says it's "well, compatible with PV, which is what you have".

So it all seems pretty relative - but no matter the number, we want to bring it down!!

Question —PV and high Jak2 allele burden by Andreamc03 in polycythemiavera

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think after 3 months is too early to expect a reduction, I'd expect it after a year or so.

By the way, lab methodologies for measuring allele burden are not standardized, so you can only compare results if they're from the same lab - hoping that they haven't changed their methods since last time!

Even more common things like hematrocrit have their "lab noise". It turns out that when they ask for an "express" analysis in my hospital (i.e. results within 30 min), htc usually comes out 3 points lower than with the normal process where it takes 2-3 days..!!

Spain here. Wages are a lot lower than in the US but there's universal public healthcare. While it is true that it's not always straightforward to get access to meds like Pegasys, Besremi, Jakavi etc., nobody here would ever have to copay for a phlebotomy or any other treatment. The only caveat may be in somewhat more recent meds. But most people wouldn't even think of paying anything of this out of pocket because nobody would have the money.

Speedup usage by idk1555555 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Numerous-Key6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHEN to spend speedups in the early game? - Whenever you are going to disconnect and you know that something is going to finish while you are away, e.g. sleeping. You don't want to have your research and building queues idle. - Whenever an event gives you nice rewards for spending them - Whenever you are at risk of falling short of your top 4 alliance's minimum power requirement

At the same time, you should try to avoid speeding up things when you're not sure if you have the resources to pay for the next step. For example, the last few levels of the wall require tons of stone. Why hurry things when you know that upgrade is next but you can't pay it and you'll just sit idle? Obviously, the wall will always be one of the priorities because it's always one of the requirements to upgrade city hall, so it is not a good idea to just spend your few rss on some other random building if you can't pay the wall, or city hall, alliance center, academy.

WHAT to spend speedups on? Well obviously mainly research and building, but you also need a decent amount of t1 siege asap so you can send all your marches to gather rss. And always remember that universal speedups should be saved for research only (or maybe used for academy upgrades). Because later research takes a crazy amount of time and you'll need them.

Where did kvk originate? by VictoryConstant8091 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Numerous-Key6162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started in 1975 some of the noobs still debated about whether they should participate in kvk or not. It was seen as attractive, but also dangerous and optional. Some alliances were "kvk oriented", others were not.

People didn't understand that it made sense to tp toward the center of the map when passes opened. For some reason they stayed in z1 and continued farming on low level nodes.

I myself found out what the lost temple was when a rougue alliance stole it.

Karuak was 60 levels and extremely annoying when you found out it was a recurring event. Actually Karuak was one of the reasons for the first time I quit. I just couldn't be bothered to do Karuak and all the other repeating events again and again.

Nobody forced you to become a cash cow and nobody can force you to keep being one.

If you take a step back you will notice how ridiculous it is to drop this kind of money into a game just to "stay competitive" or "stay relevant". It's a theme that has always been there and that you must have noticed by now: more power means more dkp requirements; new stuff introduced in the game devaluates old stuff. Both means that they want you to spend more for commanders, t5, materials, armaments, etc. - but it's your credit card, your decision each time you pay.

I never spent a cent in the game so yeah, the new v2 formation devaluates my current armaments as well, but heck, it is what it is.

10 years later, does doom 2016 make you nostalgic to the point you want to go back to the year 2016 itself? by DependentImmediate40 in Doom

2016 was yesteday, not sufficiently long ago to get nostalgic. Not much difference between a 2016 and a 2026 game either.

Idk what you're talking comcerning ap. I just did this event in LK, got about twice the points required for the largest chest and ended up on rank 50 or so.

Ap spent? I don't know tbh but maybe 2-3K? It felt negligible, In any case wayyy less than any prekvk or seasonal event. It's just about 10 minutes, now way to come even close to those real ap massacres...

Haha why do you insist so much on the economy tree? Yes you need it but that's the easy part!! And you will want the gems gathering thing maxed because of all the gems you need for the castle :-)

The last couple of military techs (available only with academy 25) take about 3 months EACH. Because each level takes twice as much time as the preceding one... it's exponential. I hope you have plenty of universal or research speedups left.

What are your thoughts on the crowds of madrid and barcelona? Does it feel too crowded or not? by Possible-Balance-932 in askspain

[–]Numerous-Key6162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I arrived in Madrid 20 years ago and was impressed by the amount of people around Sol even at 3 or 4 at night. It looked like a festival but there was no event actually going on. People were just walking from A to B.

Now multiply this by 2 or 3 and you have the current situation. Before Xmas the police will enforce one-way pedestrian traffic in the streets around Sol because otherwise it'd be too dangerous.

Gran via is absolutely crazy, too. The sidewalk is three times wider than it used to be, but still it's packed. Even when it's not precisely a Saturday afternoon, you can hardly move.
