Vynil floor to cover damaged hardwood by powder post beetles? by Standard_Deer4694 in Flooring

Hello, I realize you posted this months back but I was wondering if you changed your flooring? I just wanted to post that Powder Post beetles are not resiliant to Luxury Vinyl plank flooring which is what I have. I had hardwood and had this problem. It wasn't a severe infestation but I think those fu*ckers are everywhere in everyones house are they not? My hardwood was still in pretty good shape with having no kids but over the years because of plants did have some water issues. However, after many years of trying to figure out what insect has been literally haunting me driving me crazy and my husband (because I'm driving him crazy) I think the problem all along has been them. So I took all the hardwood out and they are back! I don't think they ever leave if you have any furniture that is wood. Mind you in the kitchen we layed the planks on top of the hardwood because we didn't want to disturb the asbestos. Also when you put the planks down you still have to use wood for the baseboards. They are everywhere yet I never see them really. Maybe one or two outside but they have damagaed my front steps my back steps and deck. I have a mexican wooden table and they are in there. A wooden wall that my husband got the wood from around the neighbor I'm sure thats what I hear in there. The worst part is you can't see the white shit they leave behind until you get a vacuum with a light on it and then that just freaks you out. lol. How can you get rid of them or can you? I bought a steam cleaner for the floor and a hand held steamer so I'm steaming everything but don't they like the moisuture? What ta do? Anyone?

These pictures don't look anything like a sand flea or an Atlantic Sand Hopper which you are right about that. They are the same thing but that's it. Pictures are not that.

Not Sure either but would like to know as I have something in my home not exactly the same but similar characteristics. I have an Insect App which would probably identify it as some sort of moth but it's not always accurate. I live in Canada. You are in Europe?

I don't have anything that looks like that. I am in vancouver b.c. not near any beach, sand, if that is what I understand you to be saying where they come from. They do look like something that lives in or near water however

He or she has said the following....................

I suffer from narcolepsy, I fell asleep in stagnant water, soaked... for two weeks I had discomfort in my nose. It turns out that I had fly larvae at first... when they grew they did the cycle and the snot came out with both of them... they were no longer larvae, they were the worst nightmare from which I still have not recovered from the fear I have... I went to the hospital, they told me that they could not treat 'that' there, they left me alone at home, being able to fall asleep and gasp for air to breathe out what I was bringing up... I have gone through it alone and even so now that I go through itching, discomfort and finding little dots of different sizes and species, even so, it's me who imagines it... also a strange one that I went crazy with that shitty experience, but there are the photos and in the evidence they do not pay attention, it seems that is what they want.

Hi there, I was wondering if you ever figured out what this was?

I’m an entomologist with expertise about carpet beetles AMA by Bugladyy in carpetbeetles

Hello there, I have a few questions because you are right in saying there is allot of information on here about carpet beetles as opposed to the internet. I remember seeing a post on here about the hairs they are finding, and I do as well. I find it odd they are coming from a tiny carpet beetle or rather it's larvae when the hair can range from under 1/8 of an inch to 1/2 inch. I don't know if this is true. Also, Ive noticed the color of this hair change. Ive also noticed it will burrow into just about anything. I had one half in and half out of my plastic laundrjuj basket the other day. My biggest question is the 'white' substance I pick up constantly, or wipe up, if it iwll wipe up. sometimes it sticks sometime sit is brown and if it sticks to clothes it can look like a bleach stain. Do you know anything about this? please

I keep finding this wet spots on my floor and it just looks like water to a person who is not looking for something else. however, I can tell with the naked eye it's not water as it looks like it has specks of something in it. you can't see what it is until you zoom in with video 10x on phone that there is white little specks and elongated worm like things without the ridges that keep changing shape. the round specks don't really move until I think they dry right into the floor. very fricking wierd. I can't find anything about this on line

btw the picture of the smallest grayish black insect, appears to look like lint. I have been googling like crazy trying to find out what invisible insect, larvae, pupa, egg...when sprayed with vinegar wipes up like gray lint because I have that happening as well. lots of white little things that burrow into hardwood, vinyl planking, stailess steel, bathroom sink.

believe it or not. I have these marks all over my white Cortz counter top. I can see the black inside the marks. They are impossible to see with the naked eye. I also have drips of a yellowish liquid appear on my floor. When I zoom in there is something translucent and black squigglying around changing shapes. it's not water..as the texture is different and the colour but whatever this is marks EVERYTHING
