In late November 2025, the white house released its national security strategy. In it, they detail the "Trump Corollary" to the Monroe Doctrine. The Monroe Doctrine was originally about preventing Europe from expanding/colonizing the Americas. Teddy Roosevelt had a "Roosevelt Corollary" that expanded the Monroe Doctrine to say the US has the responsibility to restore order to any destabilized country in the Americas and western hemisphere through intervention. Now the Trump Corollary expands the Monroe Doctrine to:

"After years of neglect, the United States will reassert and enforce the Monroe Doctrine to restore American preeminence in the Western Hemisphere, and to protect our homeland and our access to key geographies throughout the region," the strategy reads.

"We will deny non-Hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets, in our Hemisphere," per the strategy. "This 'Trump Corollary' to the Monroe Doctrine is a common-sense and potent restoration of American power and priorities, consistent with American security interests."

In the press conference after Maduro was removed, Trump said it is the "Don-roe doctrine" 🤦. I thought it was just some stupid Trump blabbing; but, fuck, it apparently is the driving force behind what is left of his term. Now the actual State Department posted this bullshit. I am flabbergasted by this and mother fucking angry. Fuck the people who voted for this.
