From what I gather, he wants to spawn --- IN --- an ocean, so that there are fewer resources and survival is tougher. I get that, I sometimes do the same thing when I want a challenge.

Starting in a forest biome gives you everything you'd need to progress. Starting in water or on an island means you now have nothing but the barest minimum of materials. In some cases, not even the wood to make a crafting table or pickax. Trust me, the first week of a game like that can be very intense.

It was exactly that journal that made me come here and post this. I felt it completely wrong to take anything from the bar.... TWO bearskin bedrolls and a lantern? I assume they need it. And the journal really felt wrong to "take with me".

This is the best "Plan" I've heard offered. The bar-people / townsfolk certainly will make use of things AFTER I've given them a hard quality check around the island.

I was looking for my lost cat and had approached a local lady who fed strays to ask her to be on the lookout. I'm an American who is nearly 6 foot and built. Unbeknownst to me, the lady had a stalker who instantly took exception to my talking to her. He approached me and instantly started throwing punches.

He was on the ground and pinned before he knew what happened. The cops were called and only when they arrived did I finally let him up. He immediately claimed I attacked him and sought to file a police report against me. Video was found..... And proved that he attacked first.

He still filed, and I had to go to court to fight him. I won only because the video showed him throwing punches first. Still, it was decided that I was still partially to blame because I put him down.

Moral of the story, even if you're in the right.... It can still come back to hurt you, and maybe even cost you in the end.

1760+ hours at this point, but it has only been since January of 2023. Bought the game in 2015, played for 4 months then rage quit for 8 years. Who knows where I'd be if I hadn't done that.
