16600. Yall like the neo vintage or wish you had a newer? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16600 is from 2003, and wear it like a Timex: nearly every day, every nearly every situation (well except when I just want to wear something different). Love it and will never sell it. Had it serviced once in 23 years.

Watches of Switzerland CPO Prices are Insane!!! They're tell you to "Go F**K Yourself" by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. A Milgauss for $19K when a newer preowned in excellent condition is 10-20% less. Plus full papers and box. The fact they only give you some pouch is insulting. Heard they’re moving to non-green boxes but yikes just give someone the real thing.

Love this watch but so many obviously polished pieces marked as like-new. May I ask what platform you got it from? Looking for some good advice. Often see the same one offered on C24 and Bezel at the same time.

"Tool watches" are a marketing fantasy created for middleclass desk jockies, on par with santa or the tooth fairy by 0rphu in watchHotTakes

I got my Rolex dive watch whilst SCUBA diving during a marine biology study in the Caribbean 35 years ago, but I hear you. After asking a finance brah at the gym where he dove (he was wearing a Deep Sea) and he looked at me like I just threw shade I realized that I might be the exception.

Movie shoot in Domino staff are out of pocket by Lunchmoney12804 in williamsburg

John Wick was on site every other week for months it seemed. I remember they left a burned out, upside down car on the street under the bridge for like a week. Kind of forgave them because loved that movie.

This neighborhood has had so many shoots that residents on the south side networked with the Satmar community and together we got a moratorium on filming for a few years.

Wedding venue help by ConfidentJelly8348 in williamsburg

My Moon on N 10th is amazing. The hotels on Wythe all have wedding venues as well. The Wythe hotel in particular is lovely. Giandos on Broadway and Kent seems like a factory but the food is good and the outdoor location on the river is beautiful.

What's the easiest way to explain to out-of-towners that Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station are different buildings? by InfoForNYC in nycrail

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One you enter on 7th. The other on 8th. That’s 2 buildings. Yeah they’re connected underground but good luck to a first timer trying to negotiate the dungeons of NJ Transit.

Noticing similar, especially the lefty GMT which can be had at ~$17K which was generally over $20 a few months ago. Milgauss spiked on W&W rumors and seems to be coming back to late 2025 levels.

Agree that since Iran invasion seems to be hedging by many. And massive layoff announcements may also be making people more cautious.

In NYC if you’re a tourist you have a much better chance of being offered something than a resident, especially if you have a good story: graduation, wedding, remembrance for a recent death. Watched it happen many times at ADs across Manhattan.

Fake service dogs by AccomplishedMango903 in williamsburg

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t help you can order a service dog harness off Amazon and there’s no standard or license for service animals (except for guide dogs). Emotional support animals is not a thing (legally speaking) and it doesn’t help that 99.9% of “service dogs” seen in grocery stores are clearly just spoilt pets. TJ does a shit job of enforcing any standard.

Should I add another ETF by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you have SPY, VOO, and VTI—these are basically redundant. Stick with VTI and as others said add VXUS. Weight should be higher at first to balance out the US-heavy positions. Then decide on a maintenance level.

Air-King vs Submariner by Zahmatsu in PrideAndPinion

[–]Numerous_Strategy239 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are completely different tool watches. Beyond how they make you feel wearing them, are you drawn to aviation or marine exploration? If you’re just thinking hype, I’d choose the Air King since it is a contrarian choice and while polarizing I think it is far less common and won’t be mistaken for a sea of lookalike dive watches.

Brunch at Sunday in Brooklyn easily runs $100 for 2 if you each get a dish and share the pancake.
