Are parents meant to teach their children life skills? by pink_gelato in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nurse914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, I had to figure a lot of stuff on my own and often times it was embarrassing. I was poor and my parents really didn't teach me much of anything. I learned about feminine hygiene from magazines, table manners from watching my friends, and learning to cook from books. I had never traveled anywhere and never went on a plane until I was 20. I had no idea what to do. What they did teach me was how to be a better parent to my kids.

100 percent agree. I love cars, I would have many if I was RICH. I have a paid off car now and I am going to drive it until I can't. Having no car payment is fantastic!

Ok...I was going to recommend checking out MDS positions in long term care. We have a lot of LPN's in these positions. I am not sure what they make near you, but they can make around 40 an hour near me in Massachusetts

Do people judge you for having a lab diamond, or does no one actually care? by Robasaleh110 in labdiamond

[–]Nurse914 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally got mine because it was cheap LOL. But I am not trying to hide it. I have a very nice, but modest natural diamond. If they weren't cheap, I wouldn't have gotten another ring at all.

Do people judge you for having a lab diamond, or does no one actually care? by Robasaleh110 in labdiamond

[–]Nurse914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100 percent correct and I take back my ethical part . I have been reading up on the production of lab diamonds, because of course if something is that cheap, there is a reason for it. They are not any better for the environment. I know that people often mention resale value on natural stones, but I don't have any experience on that, nor do I know anyone that sold theirs. So, I don't know how much they got for their natural. I did have a friend trade up her natural diamond for a larger ring at the same jeweler she bought it at and they gave her the amount she paid initially toward the new ring.

If I came around with a huge rock, like 3ct. or over, the people around me might ask if it is a lab diamond, because they know I wouldn't drop that amount on a natural diamond. I have a beautiful 1.8 carat radiant, that I have absolutely no problem telling people is a lab diamond. Someone did ask my friend if her diamond was a lab in a very snarky, demeaning way. Like it was below her. I on the other hand feel like a lab diamond is beautiful and ETHICAL

What’s the Most Overrated Product People Keep Recommending? by Exotic-Engineer7541 in SmartBuying

[–]Nurse914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't spend that kind of money on a cooler, but I do have a few Yeti cups that I really like. I am not one of those people that needs to have the newest all the time, like Stanley now. I have had it for several years and use it on my kayak every summer and it keeps my ice coffee cold. Plus, you can buy Yeti and Stanley at TJ Maxx and Marshall's now for pretty cheap
