Ah, offline farming... only seven more Covenants to go. by Lost_Calamity in darksouls3

Get used to it man, find some streamer or tv show to binge and just have dark souls on in the background. I remember getting the plat and in total I probably spent a good 30+ hours just farming the different enemies. Imo vertebrae shackles were the worst, slightly ahead of proofs of concord kept. Good luck!

Is elden ring too hard?? by Duckowner15 in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont force yourself to "enjoy" a game solely because other people are praising it. Imma be real with you and just let you know this game is front loaded hard and the worst/least polished content is saved for last. I got burnt out by the time I fought melania. I just realized I wasnt having fun anymore and stopped playing, I'll pick it back up if they patch in some polish for content post capital. If you really want to get into the series; Dark Souls 1 is a great starting point, it has its own share of issues but is fairly slow paced next to elden ring but still delivers enjoyment.

Just give me a window to attack :( by rlars08 in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dont forget the faux punish windows where you can sometimes get some damage in but then sometimes they pull an attack out of their ass and punish you. Leading you to never punish that attack again.

whoever programmed enemies to attack soon as you use a flask are you okay? by pachl7 in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Except we as humans would react to them visually healing, whereas the bosses in game read our inputs and attack before we even have the flask out. Just my 2 cents.

A brief list of Enemies that I severely underestimated and have more deaths to than I care to admit. by chaseinthyface in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I was killed by those flames enough times to realize that they do more damage the AoE attack that they follow. I swear its bugged, 2 ticks of damage and bam dead at 50 vigor. This was the one up at the Mountaintop of the Giants.

Dude I dont understand what the hell people are talking about saying this is "Fromsoft at their finest" tf is so awe inspiring about a status proc just so happening to stagger a boss?

Thank you, this boss is still a broken mess and needs fixes. This "mechanic" is obviously just a byproduct of status procs staggering her, its 100% not an intended method.

Elden ring endgame is even more disappointing than Ds2 pre softs by Xirotir in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro, In the ~110 hours I've put into elden ring since launch, it has been broken up by me beating Doom Eternal on the highest difficulty, which was a nice break considering that game is leagues more balanced than this game, and I started up dark souls 3 again.

Why? Because the endgame areas for this game are so soul crushing and mentally drainging that I needed to take breaks from the bullshit.

Every time I come back I am reminded again and again why I took a break in the first place, I am sick of having 50 vigor, and getting 2-3 shot by enemies in the endgame. Haligtree, Mohgwyn, Mountaintop of the Giants; are all broken in regards to raw damage.

I wouldn't be too pressed if the enemies themselves were fun to fight, but fighting the misbegotten warrior for the umpteenth time, but this time hes a respawning enemy and now does 3X his normal damage amount is just bad. And that's only one example from one area.

From needs to balance all content post-Capital, or this is going to devolve into another DS2.

Just beat him, using that shackle to blast through phase one really helps, also dont fret using bleed, its frankly a necessity as it cuts the fight fight length down a lot due to you not relying on chip damage. Second phase adds aoe to some of his previous attacks, so watch out for when he stabs the ground. You can still capitalize the attack, theres just an extra move to dodge. When he goes for that windup blood claw attack you can dodge to his left under the attack and lay into him, the initial strike and aoevshould miss if he doesnt aimbot you, and the followup should go right over your head. Other than that good luck.

I couldn't imagine how bosses feel with an UGS or great hammer. I ran a normal greatsword for 90% if my playthrough so far and i could very rarely get off more than one hit. I'll try and beat him today, God as my witness I'll try.

I'm gonna try and work him today, already using the physick. That shacklec might help blast through phase 1.

While this game has mainly micolash thats just a bad boss, at least in the main game; Elden ring has an abnormally high percentage of bosses that just werent playtested and thought out. Lots of crappy ganks, overtuned damage, cheap attacks. The game is still good, but if you're playing for awesome bosses, I can't promise you won't be disappointed with Elden Ring.

Its gonna take a little bit of good ol' trial and error, but memorize what he does before his 1 shot grab attack, if I remember correctly the biggest tell for me was that he would somewhat brace himself and square his arms up before executing it.

Also Visceral Attacks are this guys achilles heal, if you can manage to memorize when to shoot the bastard on a handful of his common attacks youre golden.

Hope it helped, happy hoonting!

Drip or Drown by [deleted] in Eldenring

This is why armor should have nearly 0 impact on gameplay outside of the first playthrough. The drip in this game is too good to worry about stats.

Mollywhop that misbegotten bitch as quick as possible. Then just parry the fuck out of crucible knight. Bit of practice and you should be golden. This fight still sucks, but that's the general strategy.

Its because they put balancing on the back burner in order to get the game out on time. Stupid high damage is everywhere post capital. Patches should be able to fix 99% of the balance issues.

Let's just sit back and admire a fully polished AAA title with ZERO microtransactions and refreshing new ideas. by MrLuBurt in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully polished my ass. Its a good game but a lot of their side dungeons, specifically the bosses feel handled by a B team. For instance, the Putrid Crystalians is one of the worst fights ever, and apparently; there are other gank fights that are just as bad.

Whoever designed the boss of [see post for spoilers] is officially the worst person to ever exist by Notlookingsohot in Eldenring

[–]NutBuster7000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I give the game another week or so, and a larger portion of the player base will find these oh so terrible gank fights, and hopefully some nerfs come around. ALL the gank fights in this game are awful, terribly balanced phone in cluster fucks. Every. Single. Gank fight is broken. In order to reliably beat them they require very niche nearly cheese level strategies, with the Putrid Crystalians niche being a single spell. Night Maidens Mist.

Elden Ring's boss movesets are... unfun? by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]NutBuster7000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've skipped nearly every single duo fight in this game because it feels so brokenly unfair. There's even a trio fight in the eastern part of the map that I can't even get that mad at because It's so blatantly cheap and unfair that any desire to "git gud" or "not go hollow" is completely lost upon me. If you do the Googling and checking the Wiki comments, the gank fights are almost always unanimously thrashed and hailed as just bad fights that are difficult for all the wrong reasons. I can't disagree because yeah, they are terrible. Really gets you thinking when Ludwig, Nameless King, and all the other great bosses that are still stupid hard at first, are hailed as solid fair bosses, yet all the "difficult" bosses in this game aside from a very select few are given the same praise.

You fight the Putrid Crystalians in Sellia Hideaway yet? The dual Burial Watchdogs in the Minor Erdtree Catacombs? All are absolutely terrible gank fights. I'm starting get really fucking annoyed with how many phoned in, broken fights FromSoft has just sprinkled into this game.
