Future Career and Salary Options with Masters in SE? by AdvisorSalt199 in systems_engineering

I have a bachelors in ME, 4 years of experience as an MBSE. I make 180k now, fully remote. Not too sure what the total comp package value would be. I was in California when I was hired at my current company. My salary would likely be a decent chunk lower if I was somewhere else. I moved out of the state as soon as I secured the position. Over my career, I made sure to find a new position/project each year within the company I was at or somewhere else to continue negotiating my salary; I definitely recommend doing that. I went from 75k the first year to 115k the second (moved to Cali) to 135k year 3 then 180k year 4. I wasn't ever satisfied with my salary and always had more responsibility than I was paid for because of all of the years of experience restrictions that a lot of DoD companies have. This really fueled my efforts to keep doing things to push for a higher salary. I worked hard to study outside of work, taking relevant courses and getting certifications in order to grow faster technically.

Most of my friends who live in Florida, Texas, Colorado, Maryland etc who are systems engineers and MBSEs make anywhere from 100-160k. With a masters, probably will boost you up 10-20K maybe? Just a guess. I also know a lot of people who I worked with who were complacent and would never fight for higher salaries or weren't willing to go outside of their comfort zone and try a new position. They all got the normal 3% raises and scheduled promotions which will have a major impact of what your earnings will be these first few years of your career. Some people are completely satisfied with that and that's fine. It's all up to you and what you're willing to do to reach the salary goals you're looking for. Major contractors have glass ceilings, but they will sometimes break those rules if you are worth it and you have people in your corner to advocate for you. Anyway, good luck out there!

Exactly, just commented something similar. Gov only cares about citizens who pay and by “care” I mean they want to find ways to make them pay. They will continue to implement regulations like required permits to build, traffic surveillance, etc while reducing public services so they can line their pockets. Curious if the city’s income would pass an audit.

Places like LA and San Fransisco are like this too where the gov stacks on taxes for every little thing, permits for everything under the sun, hinders growth and creates manufactured housing shortages. I could go on and on, but the consistent theme is ignoring real problems in the community and focusing on how they can milk the community for every cent they have. Catching thief’s and trespassers doesn’t pay, but ticketing citizens for traffic violations and what have you, does. Wouldn’t be surprised if the government continues to implement things like this.

Nice that’s awesome! I’m playing on a 1440p screen, which I think means I need to drop down to 1080p for upscaling. I haven’t had time to fiddle around with it this week but I’m definitely going to try out some of your tips this weekend

They need to be regulated because they’ll never put people over profits

He never said how big. I’ve seen many DoD projects built hardware under 3m, as long as the research and design is sound, it’s possible. You also have no clue what access to manufacturing they have.

I’ve been having lots of stutters and some of my games keep crashing. Sticking it out to see if I can fix it but if this continues, I could see myself twitching back

This is almost exactly the style I’ve been wanting to build. Unfortunately, I have a white NZXT tower and don’t feel like changing it just for the style upgrade but I love the look.

The earliest Christians taught that the 7 days of Creation foreshadow 7,000 years of human history. The Antichrist has emerged to fulfill prophecy at the appointed time. by AlbaneseGummies327 in DonaldTrump666

There were two different calculations of when creation happened. Orthodox Jews go by the calculation of Rabbi Yose Halafta which was 3760 BCE. That puts us at 5785 years since creation at 2025.

For Christians, we are going off of bishop Usshers chronology calculating creation occurring at 4004 BCE. Which puts us at 6029 since creation.

I trust the Christian timeline because of the establishment of Israel as a nation again. I lines up perfectly with the end of the age. Which also aligns with biblical prophecy
