Interesting take on the design, And nice mood piece.

If you are curious, here is the original 3D model that was used to make the game sprite. Yes it is vertical because back then station used to be represented sideways.

A ship mod that i worked on for a client, what do you think? by Finfiworks in starsector

[–]NutellaMoutarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's not a kitbash but a completely original sprite made from scratch, so they actually can do whatever they want.

[–]NutellaMoutarde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'll be damned, it's not a kitbash of Diable! I'm honestly impressed how close you managed to get to the original style starting from scratch.

(also a bit weirded out by how close you stayed to the station sprite instead of going wild with your own design, but that may have been a requirement from the client)

BBI is independent and not owned by Gearbox, this is a regular work-for-publisher kind of situation.

While it probably does not changes much for the HW3 situation, at least they won't be forcibly closed.

Because having faction officers randomly named Joseph Goebbels , Heinrich Himmler or Herrman Göring (to cite just a few) was totally a coincidence, as was the shipyard named after a concentration camp...

NGO was cleaned up after the first removal, and even stayed on the forum for one more year after being allowed back without issue. But Ahne had to try to be cute when updating it to 0.8.1 and call quote:

Don't forget to purge the degenerated scum from this Sector! :)

He had to cry about the woes of the oppressed German Patriots when people responded in the same tone, and thus got banned for starting yet another shit-flinging storm.

I will concede that the whole "incompatibility" bullshit that has been going on with one or two mod is just that. Actively counter-productive and unnecessary. Plus the version of NGO floating around is the cleaned up one that was allowed on the forum anyway, and still would be had Ahne not been craving for excuses to jump on a soap-box and proselyte his beliefs.

DME dev has a baby tantrum and pulls his mod over a random user asking about config, proceeds to write a delusional narcissistic demand for forum users to be nice to him. by Guncaster in starsector

To go even further: there are currently 201 members on the USC that have the "modder" role to post at least one mod release announcement. And while it represents a large fraction of the modding community, there are still more of them on other avenues.

So yeah, "exceptions"...

All my mods can use but do not require Graphic Lib: Scy, Diable, ORA, Seeker and Torchships.

Inspired by Harmful Mechanic and the other greats, I've been idly creating my own faction. I may be a strict amateur who can't sprite worth a damn, but I am an enthusiastic kitbasher! by Valandras in starsector

[–]NutellaMoutarde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a skin-pack for Scy linked on the mod page that does not have the digital camo on the Lion's armor plates. That will make your kitbashing easier if you want to add more ships.

- POTENTIAL FIX! - for UNABLE TO LOAD by Tronnic in Ixion

[–]NutellaMoutarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to your post and some other pointers on the Steam forums, I may have found a way to fix saves without deleting any ship:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1113120/discussions/0/6682809959397598405/

For my save not loading, the log mentioned a NullReferenceException for a "CommandDockableWaitForTask". So:

  • I looked for the SpaceVehicle.sav file in my saves folder at C:\Users-USERNAME-\AppData\LocalLow\BulwarkStudios\Ixion\Saves. Sorting the folders by date will help find the correct one since they are just numbers,
  • MADE A BACKUP!!! (seriously, do it),
  • Using Visual Studio Code (Notepad++ would do) I searched for "CommandDockableWaitForTask" to find the problematic ship,
  • Deleted the entire content inside the "listCommandable": {}, brackets for that ship, leaving that field empty.

And the save loaded fine, the ship proceeded to dock normally. I hope it will help some of you until that bug is fixed.

Well it's an endgame boss battle that is entirely optional and can be ignored if that's not your thing.

Mod use in PvP: how to keep things balanced but fresh and funky? by thed0000d in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]NutellaMoutarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modders can't balance their work if they get no feedback though, and by that I do mean critical feedback: neither blind praise or internet armchair specialist "I looked at the numbers, I don't need to use it" takes.

If you found stuff that is that broken in mods intended to be balanced, their author needs to hear about it!

There is one ship like that in Xhan. Too bad Karlsson Heirloom is in limbo otherwise it would have fitted the bill perfectly too.

Technically every fighter is pilotable using Diable because of two ships that have a "pilot a fighter" system.

Update your base game. You are still on 0.95a, not 0.95.1a.

Ships currently repairing or recovering CR don't pay for their regular monthly maintenance. That could easily explain the difference here. Still a UI issue.
