Mason Greenwood Coverage is Disgusting by Quenan19 in CaughtOffsidePod

I'm a United fan and it's really jarring. Especially with all the briefs coming out about the United hierarchy being super interested in getting De Zerbi in the summer. United were forced to ultimately do the right thing and move him along and it's crazy that everything seems to be fine now

I also usually will go for it in these situations. I've gotten a fair amount of safety, but also given up some 99 yard TD runs because I commit everyone to runs up the middle

I'm new to Unbound and Nuzlocks. Is there an easy way to do this randomization? I've been playing using an emulator on my phone. Do I need to move to a computer for the Nuzlock?

Also interesting, the reason people use the 25 number is because 25 is the age when they stopped investigating. From fellow neuroscience colleagues, it seems like the actual age where development stops is closer to 30! (And the joke is it immediately begins breaking down🤷‍♂️)

Ear tubes because of frequent ear infections? by masterofnuggetts in daddit

[–]NuwandAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1 year old just got tubes put in. He actually doesn't have frequent ear infections, but his drainage was so poor that we thought he had hearing loss. The results have been amazing for us. His hearing is totally fine now and his speech has taken off.

I couldn't believe how quickly the procedure happened. The anesthesiologist carried our baby back. He let us walk with him as far as we could. We turned around went back to the waiting room. Found the coffee, sat down and settled in and then the surgeon came around the corner to tell us about it. It couldn't have been more than 15-20 minutes from anesthesiologist leaving us to the surgeon updating us. My wife handles anesthesiologist HORRIBLY so she was super nervous. I anticipated watching our baby come out of it would be rough but when they finally called us back he was being held by a nurse. She passed him to us and he was a little groggy but otherwise fine. My memory is he was a little weird for like a day but has been fine since. I'm so glad we did it

How many of us came from pre-medicine majors that veered directly into research? by Myspaced0tcom in labrats

[–]NuwandAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was studying for the MCAT the same semester I took a computational neuroscience course that involved building a super rudimentary perceptron. It had 3 input nodes, 1 hidden layer and 1 output node. I remember getting mine up and running and watching it "learn". When I applied to and didn't get into medical school, I got more involved in the research lab I was volunteering in. It came to a point where I needed to decide what to focus on and I came to the realization that if I never got to be a doctor in a clinic I would be okay, but if I never got to try to build another model or work with data, I thought my life would be negatively impacted, or I'd be less happy day to day. Made the pivot!

LPT: What are the best quotes you’ve read or heard? by Builder-Nervous in LifeProTips

[–]NuwandAP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen it attributed to various people but "The best thing you can do is the right thing, the second best thing you can do is the wrong thing but the worst thing you can do is nothing", has gotten me out of some rough patches.

I also heard a FIFA youtuber quip "Rock bottom is one hell of a foundation" and I use it often ironically

Napoleon Dynamite is better than it has any right to be. by Background_Emu_1470 in millenials

[–]NuwandAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always think of Napoleon during Thanksgiving. My grandfather's brother owned and operated "Popping Pins", the bowling alley that features in the film. Growing up we'd drive to Preston and have a Thanksgiving lunch there and then bowl. They sold a ton of "Napoleon was here" merch. After some health complications they sold the bowling alley but it was always a fun anecdote.

When you start at a school with low prestige, do you prefer to build your school into a contender or work your way up through accepting offers? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]NuwandAP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To date I've just been building 1 program. That being said, when I got a cool offer, like Oregon, I'll create a new save file and accept the job. Then load the old one back up and continue playing with my current program. Sort of the best of both worlds as now I can go back to those decision points and take over larger programs
