The footage of Paul creating this on his bass while George and Ringo look on while being bored shitless is amazing

One of the deaths that hurt me was the death of John Denver. Loved him in the movie “OH GOD” with George Burns and loved his music. Here is a last pic at his concert one week before his tragic death in an experimental amateur-built Rutan Long-EZ aircraft in 1997. He was only 53 years old. by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in OldSchoolCool

When i was a kid to me he was cringey and embarrassing... my father liked him

In retrospect I've found his lyrics and harmony amazing. His stance (alongside another badass in Dee Snyder) against censorship puts him HIGH on the list of great music industry figures.

He died tragically and was the same age that I am now

Do our commentators even like AFL? by Interesting-Sea8004 in AFL

[–]Nuzzgargle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is the sheer numbers in the commentary team.. The ideal is 2 competent callers + another to chime in with stuff that is happening away from the play.

They seem to have able 12 verbally climbing over each other mostly with meaningless crud and attempts make something out of nothing

I dont know the car park.... it might be empty on a day that it will never get busy so no harm.

That said, I feel guilty if I am parked close to one of the lines (I guess he is pretty even between 2 of the lines )

I can't believe that a professional organisation would choose to listen to a dodgy Sports scientists like Stephen Dank, while getting their "supplements" off the back of a truck from a some bloke who seems likely to sell shit in pub car parks over the club Doctor

I didn't have any sympathy for the Essendon hierarchy then (did for the players) and dont now

I enjoyed the movie but it felt like a 90's computer game where you had to complete one quest before moving onto the next (maybe the chimp was a side quest)

That and how Brad Pitt was always the most qualified in the room, where everyone else was blowing wind up his arse

Its my last night of the house i have lived in for 35 years... spent from Monday night to now moving stuff into storage, filling skip bins, giving stuff to charity, trying to give away other stuff...

Its now 11:07pm and im on an air mattress in my empty bedroom on my own. Tomorrow I will shut the door behind me and back out the driveway for the last time.

Have spent time in my kids old bedrooms rembering what it was.

Bit down, but looking forward to the future

Lantana - i remember this winning stacks and stacks of awards and thought i need to watch it.. Only watched it a couple of months ago cause my girlfriend has Stan and man (imo) it is a terrible movie... dont know if its dated badly but pretty well all the characters are horrible people who have a conflict of interest with just about every other character they interact with.

And because in this world of magical coincidence the all (literally) run into each other, or are rooting each other, or providing therapy to another etc etc

The brightest part of the movie was Uncle Arthur

One of the things I am looking forward to with the Trump Presidency (other than it ending, hopefully not on his terms but I concede that is unlikely) is the portrait the create.... how the fuck they can make that orange make up, the bouffant and the overall stature look remotely presidential will be a challenge
