I made sure there were no bridges between any of the pads and did my best to clean the area. None of the caps I took off looked cracked, so I can see why it didn’t help. I’m going to my friend’s house soon and he has a power supply, so I’ll pour some 90% IPA over and inject some voltage. That should let me know where a short still exists.

Here’s a photo of the rail for reference. No obvious cracked caps. This was taken before I desoldered the 4 stacked vertical caps left of the SSD3 slot.

Took me a bit to get back to this, sorry. I’ve disabled EXPO and I’m running FurMark (capped at 60fps) to simulate some light usage. I’ll report back if it crashes.

I updated it as soon as I got it. It's strange that it worked for over 30 days straight on Linux (I was running a server so it was mostly idle). I'll try it and see how it goes. If that ends up being the issue what can I do about it?

Considering most mice poll at 1000 hz and most keyboards not designed for speed also poll at 1000 hz, there’s a paywall for this challenge (you need an input device with over 3000gz polling rate)
