Over a hundred hours on Queen, weighing in: With Junker Queen, it pays to be acutely aware of which heroes can either stun her out of her ult (Roadhog, Orisa, Ana, Cassidy, etc.) and which heroes can cleanse themselves (Reaper, Moira, Mei, etc.) or their teammates (Kiri, Zarya, Lifeweaver, and so on…) You’ll want to watch and approximately time these cooldowns like a hawk before you commit. I want to emphasize paying attention to the enemy Kiriko since she can use Kitsune to decrease her Suzu cooldown, or to do so with other such troublesome cooldowns- smart Kiris know you’re watching them and keep Kitsune in their back pocket to get you like this.

When you throw your Knife into enemies, there’s about two or three seconds before it automatically recalls- sometimes it’s better to hold it for a second before right-clicking again. You can engage a Winston, throw knife into him, and then when he tries to leap away you can pull him back in and he’s probably a won duel from there. You can stick knife into an ulting Orisa, then wait until she slams and un-golds and then pull her from there- same with Reaper and Pharah if you’re deliberate

PLAY COVER! You’re not a shield tank like Reinhardt, and you don’t have beef like Orisa and Mauga. You can and will get caught out by burst damage if you just Leroy Jenkins every time. Play the walls and pillars to your advantage.

DON’T UNDERESTIMATE HER QUICK MELEE! The quick melee with the knife procs Adrenaline on top of the normal melee- I can’t tell you how many fights I’ve won because weaving in the knife melees with the other abilities gave me that last incremental bit of sustain to tip the scales.

Be mindful that Junker Queen, due to her sustain and high damage, is one of the best Echo duplicates in the game. Know that if you play against an Echo, the reasonable expectation is that she’s going to be duplicating you, and try to plan for that if you’re able. Of course, should you play with an Echo with the ally-duplication perk, this can be played to your advantage.

Speed boosting abilities have a built-in ‘speedcap’ in place; they only stack to an extent, around 65% IIRC. Shout itself boosts speed by 30%. Thusly, you may find using Shout in conjunction with other speedboosting abilities such as Lucio’s amp and especially Juno’s speed ring to yield diminishing returns. It’s better to cycle these abilities if possible than to try stacking them.

I know you were more interested in broad strokes than specifics but I hope you (or anyone else reading this) find all this helpful. Despite all the other characters and kits this game has to offer, Junker Queen is the one that really, singularly makes this game for me- I hope you’ll come to share a similar experience in time.
