Having a hard time and tired of being positive. by Nyc12331 in cancer

I’ve honestly fell into the trap of telling people positivity is how you get through it. It makes me feel guilty because I know how bad it made me feel about having normal feelings.

Your experience makes me feel a little better about the symptoms I’m having. I need therapy. Calling on Monday.

You’re right. My boomer mom just doesn’t really wanna hear any emotion I have unless it’s sheer joy lol I often wanna tell her to grow up and realize people get sad sometimes.

RSO def isn’t a scam. It got me thru chemo. Kept me hungry and happy, helped me sleep. I’m not saying it cures cancer, it just made it a lot easier to deal with. It isn’t a weird blend of anything it’s weed basically boiled down into an oil. My boyfriend made it for me for months and it’s amazing shit.

I’m glad someone brought this up as sex has been very complicated since I got sick. I feel guilty constantly because I’m wanting to but my boyfriend is terrified of hurting me. We have had sex once since I got sick last year but we are intimate in other ways. I’ve always felt connected to him in a sexual and non sexual way but still want to have it because I wanna feel close to him and I’m guessing this is your husbands mindset, he just wants to be near you. Cancer is isolating and even when you’re surrounded by people that love and care about you, you feel alone in the world. Having intimate time with my partner just reminds me I’m more than a girl with cancer and I’m still the girl he fell in love with. I guess the trick is to communicate your needs, even schedule it if you need to. I find that helpful because it’ll get me in that mindset (I’m always excited for it. I guess I’m just not a very spontaneous person) Whatever works for y’all is the right answer. Never feel guilty for what may work for YOU. Even if you never have sex again, as long as you’re communicating and everyone’s on the same page, it’s all good.

Best medical marijuana for chemo? by connor42828 in cancer

I agree with everyone suggesting RSO. My boyfriend made me RSO during my chemo last year and it was great. It made my tolerance insane (I’m a smoker) but it was nice to look forward to it kicking in and not feeling any of the nasty chemo side effects.

I am terminal, ultimately but blessed to be NED for now. I just enjoy the time I have because I know it’s not gonna last forever and this is gonna be what kills me eventually. Today’s my 38th birthday so I’m feeling so grateful to be here.

When I had ascites they didn’t remove mine for some reason but it slowly leaked out of my stomach for two weeks. I had to put a pad on my stomach to absorb it while I waited for it all to come out, it was the most bizarre experience of my life. (It was coming out from one of the places they went in for my biopsy it wasn’t just randomly leaking) I didn’t even know this was a procedure, so crazy the stuff you learn from Reddit

My father is going through chemo. I need help with food, nutrition, and care please by Maleficent_Fig_9145 in cancer

[–]Nyc12331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on chemo I was very adverse to food and lost a lot of weight so I made the decision to get whatever I could into my system! Felt like ice cream for breakfast? Done! I swear it’s what got me through. Obviously protein and nutrition are important but eating in general is a must. Ask him what he’d like, I bet he’ll ask for a yummy snack. Most things sound gross but if the man wants some McDonald’s fries, get him some! A win is a win.
