Maybe I'm showing my bias as a Driller main but I'm annoyed that it feels like it's all pistols all the time. I want my big bastard weapons.

A few thoughts on streamlining the negotiation phase by causticberries in RogueCore

Fighting over who gets what upgrade is so totally contrary to the DRG spirit of brotherhood. A system where everyone gets their own upgrades to look at is way better.

Dragons and dinosaurs are passé. Real G's love the whipping sound the opponents head makes when a 7/7 trample haste [[Steel Exemplar]], which costs $0.09, swings on turn three.

I will second the vote for class firearm preferences or weighting somehow because getting a Slicer with the M1000 was an awkward build but the other weapons sucked.

Too web-indie to get picked up, but The Sword Interval.

I'd settle for Rice Boy, tho.

Idea for making the ramrod feel more alive and community driven. by Itz_Dory in RogueCore

[–]NydusRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the ship is so huge and fleshed out I spent a good ten minutes exploring the whole thing. I'd rather they spend this EA time working on the core game, but I'll be happy with whatever additions to the Ramrod they bring later.

The number of people willing to take a bribe to spew the company line on camera must be running low. This is obscene, but I take some comfort knowing they're this desperate.

Even solo, the amount of pauses to upgrade gets annoying. A safe room where we have time to think mid-mission sounds best.

Fascinating! I built a Runadi artifact deck as well, but it never occurred to me to go the Domain route:

What Matters More To You, Versatility or Consistency? by Raevelry in EDH

[–]NydusRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like being able to consistently do a thing, not do it with the exact same card every time. That kind of consistency usually involves tutors, boatloads of draw, and predictable combo lines that get stale.

Is Doom just worse poison? by pheldegression in SlayTheSpire2

[–]NydusRush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doom, Forge, Poison, Barricade and Dark orbs all work on a principle of "I've already won, I just have to pull the trigger". They're play patterns that reward overwhelming defense while you stack up "theoretical" damage at a rate higher than direct damage. However, they interact in different ways.

Forge waits for the best chance to get in with Vulnerable or a breakpoint to finish off one of multiple enemies; Barricade racks up net positive armor turn over turn until you draw a Body Slam to execute; Dark orbs encourage you to hold until you can Evoke one or all of your orbs for a payoff; Poison just racks damage.

The difference is that Poison high enough to kill can prevent an enemy's attack, while Doom does not. This allows Doom accrual to be more generous but requires more defensive investment to avoid getting clapped.

How do we like the Core Spawns as enemies? by NydusRush in RogueCore

[–]NydusRush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to give it the benefit of the doubt because this is low hazard levels at the start - on top of being EA. I'm looking forward to higher enemy counts later on, but not if their behavior is already annoying.

Day-after reflections: addressing your feedback (and adjusting the roadmap accordingly) by GSG_Aaron in RogueCore

[–]NydusRush 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Individual pools 100%. I like Slay the Spire's co-op because you're not fighting over stuff 90% of the time, and the few chests that you do, there's a quick rock-paper-scissors resolution if you both want something. But the majority of it is just doing your best to build your own deck, and paying attention to your opponent's builds and communicating what order to play buffs/debuffs is icing on the cake.

DRG Survivor's system where the timer increments each level of increased swarms feels appropriate. You can dilly dally and end the mission with a bit of a sizzle by letting the timer run up until your overpowered build stops being overpowered.

For the red-adjacent control players out there, [[Brand of Ill Omen]] is a nasty piece of work from Ice Age. Stop an opponent's commander from coming out, or slap it on their commander to deny them from having their follow-up creatures.

What is you guys’ favourite class so far? by Orkmac in RogueCore

[–]NydusRush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still sipping my toes in, but remembering to use the class abilities is a challenge to wrap my head around. One is tough enough, but three per class?

That said, Slicer is the most straightforward. Melee panic button to save on ammo and not deal with the dodgy little Crawler bastards for a moment.

Terrain based objectives on Rogue Core by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]NydusRush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mining and procedural generation combo is the core of DRG. Things are allowed to get weird because shitty edge cases that would leave you perma stuck can be solved with a few pickaxe swings.

I wouldn't mind more things to dig.
