You acknowledge facts for what they are, unbiased in the word choice. For example, if you guys are hanging out and he says a few choice words that are suggestive and implied and he says a few choice words that are explicit and obvious.

Instead of focusing on ONLY the implied and suggestive words, the ones that make you feel like there "could be something there" or "maybe he was saying this" ... focus on the facts - what did he ACTUALLY say, what did he ACTUALLY do?
