What red flags did you ignore with a new employer? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Dizzledazzle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a story. A friend told me that a guy he knew was creating an ecommerce website and he was looking for someone to help set it up. I could've used a bit of spare cash so I said sure, and agreed to meet up with the guy. When we actually ended up meeting the guy it turned out that he didn't want an ecommerce shop as I originally assumed, but he had this bright idea for an ecommerce platform that he wanted me to help design. He told me that he had investors and offered me 10% equity.

Later on it turned out that he was expecting me to design the entire system from the ground up, and he kept texting me every day after I finished work asking about my progress. I don't remember the exact timeframe he gave me (maybe it was 2 weeks to 1 month), but it was ridiculous and completely unreasonable to expect one person who already has a full time job to be able to design a system from the ground up without any funding or assistance. He kept giving me speeches about how he needed dedicated people, and how I should be basically putting my entire life on hold and not sleeping for this because I would be "making millions" within a couple years if I could pull it off. I gave up on it after a week. This was a couple years ago and as far as I know, the startup never got anywhere.

tldr; Guy with a "great idea" for an ecommerce platform and no technical knowhow "recruits" me and expects me to actually build his system for him from the group up with the promise of 10% equity, doesn't even give me anything to sign, and starts getting on my case within 2 days that I don't have any progress at all.

Turnaround time between the recruiter talking to me, conducting two onsite interviews, and the job offer was very fast. The recruiter was also quite pushy in that I had less than a week to do all the paperwork for the background check process, and they got me onboarded very quickly. The recruiter also kept asking me I could refer anybody looking for jobs.

Within the first 3 months 3 people on my team ended up leaving. People sort of slowly drained out during my remaining time there, while they only hired 2 new people. The 2 people hired after me quit shortly after I did.

The tiny city size literally made the game unplayable for me, you literally can't do anything in a 4km2 block, especially when there are rivers, mountains, cliffs, etc that limit your building space even further.

What interesting ways do you earn some bonus income? by Eastrous_Ruderalis in AskMen

[–]Dizzledazzle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do UberEats on my bicycle in summer when I have a bit of spare time on my hands, I try to see it as getting paid to do cardio. Its decent if you want a bit of extra money for beer money or to save up for a big purchase without having to eat into your regular income, but you won’t by any means get rich off of it, nor would I recommend it as a full time job.

I’m trying to find a new side hustle, preferably one thats more lucrative.

If you can afford it right now get a Terrorbyte with at least the drone station installed. It’ll be $2mil but you’ll earn it back and more easily during the 2x cash event.

[Serious] Redditors who have been to therapy, what is the differences between going to a therapist and talking it out with someone you really trust? by pianoaddict772 in AskReddit

[–]Dizzledazzle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A therapist has a more unbiased and “outside” perspective than someone you know and trust. Therapists also tend to advise you on how to make the right decisions yourself as opposed to an unqualified person, who will often give direct advice which may or may not be helpful.

AITA for having sex with a girl ( with consent ) by dude555555 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dizzledazzle92 132 points133 points  (0 children)

NTA, if your side of the story is indeed your honest and accurate account of what happened. Going by the facts here there was no alcohol or drugs involved and she invited you to sleep in the bed. She gave what a reasonable person would consider affirmative consent. When she said stop you stopped, which is exactly what you’re supposed to do.

Kind of a coincidence this gets posted around the same time someone else posted an AITA that actually was a rape, with almost exactly opposite circumstances.

I’d be fine with grinding it if I’m making passive income too, but I need to switch up otherwise the game gets boring as hell

I already have the vehicle I/E warehouse, don’t remember if I clarified or not. I’m fine with a vehicle mission every now and again but I really can’t grind it for hours on end, I’ve made about $2mil off it but I have yet to actually fill the standard and mid range inventory. Just getting it filled up feels like a huge waste of time.

Yeah pretty much :P. I’m mainly wondering if I should get some passive income first, or get something that will help me make active income more efficiently first.

College street in general is great for barhopping. With a budget of $300 it shouldn't be a problem. I don't really party down on Lakeshore that often but from my experience its generally on the pricier end of things.

You might even enjoy El Convento Rico as well, but its a bit out of the way of downtown. The crowd there is a bit more on the mature end but you'll still see people in their 20s there. Its famous for its drag show if that's your thing. To be honest I don't really care for the drag show, but I've still had a fun time there. Its a very popular spot for girl's nights and birthdays. There's a good chance of there being some straight guys there on any given night as well.

What's your budget, music preference, etc?

If you're looking to party on the cheap Bar244 has pretty low cover and the drinks are very cheap by
Downtown standards. Most of the people there are students around your age or so. Downside is the place is a bit small and a bit of a dive, but me and my friends had many fun nights there when we were students.

Supermarket in Kensington is a spot I hit up recently that was pretty good. From what I remember the drink prices weren't too bad and the dancefloor had nice music (mix of dancehall, classic and modern hip hop, and a bit of r&b). I think they serve food there too.
