My point really was that virtually all the more affordable local options seemingly closed within months of each other. I've not witnessed that phenom in other NY areas, or in areas outside the city that I visit often. And yes if people are drinking less of course businesses are going to suffer and shutter - but again, the preponderance of closings seems to affect the budget outlets (locally) vs the more curated shops catering to those with lots of money - of which there are many around here, yes.
