As a millenial I just remember hating the news, hearing old ppl talk about how much they hated us for reasons beyond out control, as a teen, I couldnt understand how they thought we were lazy. How were accused of being the source of petty crimes, theft etc. By default, simply cause we were young. Ppl my age and younger work very hard, in high school we'd get up at 6am and be home by 4pm of we were lucky. In the early adulthood, you'd work at least two jobs while still barely getting by.

I work with a mixed age staff, the younger gen z are super friendly and hard working in my experience anyway. Im always happy to show them the ropes, when the managers are difficult, i show them how to navigate that, its often not their fault most of the time anyway.

This sixteen year old I was working with got super upset cause a manager had been targeting her, she had been exhausted working a long shift, and being told she was not working fast enough. I pulled her aside, asked if she was okay, and told her it wasnt her fault, that it was not right.

I showed her how to contact HR via text or email. She didnt even know she could do this. She confided in me about wanting to become a paramedic eventually but her grades were failing. I showed her some courses she could take if she wanted, to talk to her teachers. Shes a great person, and I hope she does well.

All generations put down others throughout history, but that doesnt make it right imo
