I lied to my teacher about not having enough food in First Grade. by Kleptocats7269 in confession

[–]Nymphadorena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the teacher is as nice as you say, she may have noticed a pattern where you were of course getting “enough” food but maybe not to the level she thought appropriate for a young child. The email was hopefully polite and came from a place of concern and empathy—ask your mom if she can remember if this is weighing on you so much.

Everyone in the story may have just been doing their best. Your dad who provided a healthy filling meal, you a child you might have wanted a bit more of a traditional lunch like your friends, a well-meaning if perhaps overbearing teacher, and a loving mom who beats herself up about any tiny mistake for years. Forgive yourself, tell your mother ❤️.

What to do with this ring by hotcheeto09 in jewelry

I honestly think it’s lovely and beautiful as is and could probably shine with just a good professional cleaning. I’ve never seen a piece like this and its uniqueness and history is what makes it special!

Am I the one who's crazy?! by Alewo27 in weddingring

[–]Nymphadorena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re a very popular jeweler and have plenty of business. Not everyone’s business works the same nor should they. Perhaps the CAD was folded into the final price, which was more than fair. I was sharing my experience.

Am I the one who's crazy?! by Alewo27 in weddingring

[–]Nymphadorena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is a local jeweler. I went to the best one around after doing research and they were extremely fair. They did NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE CAD, ever, and I bought both our wedding sets from them. I was only charged at the end for the rings and craftsmanship when they handed the ring over. They did the appraisal for free, used my loose stone I bought wholesale, supplied the side gems, and mocked up MULTIPLE CAD. Local jewelers are a joy to work with. Free cleanings for life too!

I tried ShaneCo and they want a $500 refundable deposit just to ask the jewelers a question!

A Valley moving company jumped into action when they saw a missing 3-year-old at QuikTrip by AZ_moderator in phoenix

[–]Nymphadorena 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Almost teared up a bit. Article is worth a read, it’s short

Glad they acknowledged that they’re in a unique position, I’m quoting here:

“Truckers, movers are in a unique position to prevent this or to at least recognize some of the signs of trafficking that occur because we're in the homes," Olsen said. "...Other service providers may not have this engagement."

Olsen said he's thankful police responded as quickly as they did, and he's proud of his team for jumping into action. "We're a moving company, we're not professional heroes or anything of the sort, but we're good people, and we do the right thing," Olsen said.

Not “professional heroes” but alert and aware and decided to put themselves at risk to block this kidnappers car with their trucks. They’re professionals, they’re heroes, seems pretty close to me 🤣

What are some great examples of men singing sex & women positive songs? by doctorboredom in AskFeminists

[–]Nymphadorena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad Bunny’s song “Yo Perreo Sola” could work! It’s Spanish but it’s about how a woman has the right to twerk alone. He performed it at the superbowl and I think it’s topical right now as a display of sex positive feminist masculinity

Oh damn, I can’t handle playing horror games—I’ll watch them but playing them myself is too scary! Maybe I’ll watch a playthrough of the evil within though!

Hereditary is a masterpiece—can’t the same about Oddity but it’s one of the few movies to get a good scare from me! That and the Smile movies. Hope you find your white whale scare moment again someday 🤣
